Step 1: Go to Settings.

Gmail will prompt you to enter the password, after which the account will be added to your smartphone.

Bonus Tip: Add another account using the Gmail app

You can also add another Gmail account simply by opening the Gmail app on your phone and tapping on the user profile at the top right corner of your screen. In the pop-up window, tap on ‘Add Another Account’ and enter the email address you want to add.

This is how you can add another Gmail account to your Android smartphone. In order to access mails from different accounts, you will have to switch between them once you open the Gmail app. You can also add another Gmail account to other apps like Play Store, Calendar, Hangouts and Google Chrome.
