By now, you might be well aware of how to add music to your Stories and Reels on Instagram. But you may or may not have noticed that now Instagram allows you to add music to your Posts as well. Yes, we are talking about the ones that go on your Feed as captures. Image Posts were the only ones left on Instagram that missed out on such next-level features that Stories, Reels and videos used to enjoy. But now, you can add music to even the clicks that you post on your profile grid and make them come alive. Here is a step-by-step guide below on how to add music to your Instagram Posts in 2022.
Sometimes a tune or lyrics of a song fits exactly the kind of memories you made that you intend to share with your audience. You may not feel the need to add the track to your picture as it may already be playing in your head whenever you look at it. But adding that track to your post helps others see your memory from your perception and feel the emotions that you would have felt. It helps in connecting with your audience at a deeper level. So why not go ahead and post your favourite memory frame, but this time add another dimension, i.e., that of music to it?

Step 1: Open the Instagram app on your device and click on the Add (+) icon in the top right corner of its interface.
Step 2: Click on Post from the drop-down list.
Step 3: Choose the picture under the Gallery section that you want to post and click on the Next (blue coloured right arrow) icon in the top right corner of the screen. You can also choose multiple images to upload as an album by clicking on the album icon next to the camera icon.
Step 4: Edit your image(s) in the next window that appears and click on the Next (blue coloured right arrow) icon in the top right corner.
Step 5: Click on the Add music option below the Add location option in the next window.
Step 6: A list of available tracks on Instagram appears on the screen which you can choose from, to add to your Post.
Step 7: Select the portion of the track that you want to put as the background score of your post by dragging the pink bar on the time frame. You can even adjust its duration by clicking on the icon as shown below. When you are done setting up the music track, click on the Check icon in the top right corner.
Step 8: You can add a caption or a location to your post and also tag the people in it. Once you have made all the adjustments to your Post, click on the Check icon in the top right corner.
