How to create a GIF using AI Select on a Samsung phone? (One UI 7)

Check out this quick and easy way to create GIFs on your Samsung phone.

Most Android phones come with a native tool for making GIFs. However, these tools are a part of the native gallery app and require the source material to be saved on your phone. This means that if you want to turn a clip from a movie or a TV into a GIF, you will need to download it on your phone first. Samsung’s newest One UI 7 OS tackles this issue with its AI Select tool. Let’s take a look at how you can create a GIF on your Samsung phone using AI Select.

What is AI Select?

AI Select is one of the new Galaxy AI features on Samsung’s One UI 7 OS. This tool can be selected from the edge panel of your Samsung phone. AI Select scans the content on your phone’s screen and lets you interact with it in creative ways. Here’s what you can do with it:

Drawing Assist: Select an image or object on the screen and turn it into an artwork using Drawing Assist. Once the artwork is generated, you can turn it into a sticker on the spot.

Generative Edit: Remove objects from the selected image or use ‘sketch to image’ to add more stuff to it.

Create a GIF: Record a clip from the video playing on the screen to turn it into a GIF.
