Lumio Vision 9 (2026) Review: The Worthy New Player In Town

The Lumio Vision 9 (2026) brings a 55-inch QD-Mini LED panel, blazing-fast Google TV, and a refreshing no-bloatware promise to one of India's most competitive smart TV price segments.

Speed is a superpower in the smart TV world, and Lumio is banking hard on it. Our Lumio Vision 9 review puts the 2026 edition of this 55-inch QD-Mini LED smart TV through its paces, matching it against heavyweights like Sony, Samsung, LG, TCL, and Xiaomi at the Rs 51,999 price point. Lumio is a startup with a bold pitch: its TVs boot faster, run smoother, and stay snappier than the competition. The Vision 9 (2026) is the most advanced TV the company has launched yet, now available in a larger 55-inch size. So does it actually live up to the hype? We spent considerable time with it to find out.

Design: Solid Build, No Corners Cut

The Lumio Vision 9 (2026) keeps things clean and functional. Thin bezels frame three sides of the screen, a slim chin at the bottom carries the Lumio logo, and the rear panel is largely constructed from metal. At approximately 17kg, wall mounting is the smarter choice for most buyers. But if a cabinet is your preference, the included metal stand is reassuringly solid. No flimsy plastic here, and that is genuinely refreshing to see in this price bracket.

There is an anti-reflective, near-matte coating on the display that earns its keep in bright rooms, handling afternoon sunlight and indoor lighting without turning your screen into a mirror. Port selection is generous: three HDMI 2.1 inputs (two supporting 144Hz at 4K with variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode, and one with eARC), two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.1 port, a digital audio output, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and an Ethernet port. The ‘Minion’ remote is comfortable and clicky, with a dedicated TLDR button that launches Lumio’s built-in content discovery app. More on that shortly.

Display Performance: Colour, Contrast, and Confidence

The 55-inch QD-Mini LED panel is the centrepiece here, and it delivers where it counts. Covering 82 percent of the Rec.2020 colour gamut, it handles HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG content with colour accuracy that most VA panels in this segment struggle to match. Lumio’s Dope Display 2 picture tuning is solid enough out of the box that most users will happily stick with the default Standard preset. You can manually adjust white balance, saturation, gamma, and hue if the mood strikes you, but the defaults are well-tuned enough that going back to Standard feels like the right call.

Viewing angles are noticeably more forgiving than typical VA panels, and the anti-reflective coating adds real value for rooms with ambient light. Testing with an Apple TV 4K confirmed correct Dolby Vision rendering across the interface and through streaming content. Gamers will appreciate the 144Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution, paired with HDMI 2.1 for variable refresh rate and auto low latency mode support. Among 144Hz smart TVs in India at this price, the Vision 9 (2026) makes a genuinely strong case.

Audio: 24W Audio, Zero Drama

Six drivers, a total output of 24W, and Lumio’s DGS 2.2 audio tuning complete the audio setup on the Vision 9 (2026). The subwoofer arrangement keeps bass punchy and clean at high volumes, without muddying the midrange. Classical music playback came across clear and well-separated, while action sequences with heavy bass held up without distortion. A Sony home theatre system connected via the eARC port worked seamlessly and delivered solid stereo output across four speakers.

Will it replace a proper soundbar? No. But for built-in TV audio, 24W with a multi-driver setup is a meaningful step above what most competitors offer at this price.

Software and Smart Features: The Cleanest Google TV You Can Buy Here

This is where the Lumio Vision 9 (2026) really pulls ahead of the pack. It runs Google TV based on Android TV 14, and the implementation is one of the cleanest available in the Rs 51,999 segment. No bloatware, no pre-installed third-party apps cluttering the home screen, and absolutely no in-line promotional content. Lumio has also confirmed there is no automatic content recognition built in, and the company has explicitly stated it has no plans to add it. For privacy-conscious buyers, that is a meaningful commitment.

Boot-up speed is noticeably faster than most rivals in this price range, including a recently launched Sony Bravia Mini LED TV tested at a friend’s place. The Lumio Vision 9 price relative to this level of performance headroom is a big part of its appeal. Credit goes to the MediaTek Pentonic 700 chip and 3GB of RAM, which keep navigation snappy and app launches quick throughout the day.

The TLDR app, launched via its own dedicated button on the Minion remote, aggregates content from multiple OTT platforms and organises it by movies, series, music, and sports. It displays live sports scores and will reportedly support FIFA World Cup match tracking. A forthcoming WhatsApp and Telegram bot integration will let users discover new content that feeds directly into the TLDR app. That is a genuinely creative idea, and one worth watching as it develops.

Verdict: Fast, Clean, and Worth Every Rupee

The Lumio Vision 9 (2026) costs slightly more than similarly specced options from TCL, Xiaomi, and Hisense, but it earns the price difference in several key areas. The performance headroom from its chipset and software combination gives it better long-term longevity. The bloatware-free Google TV experience is genuinely rare at this price. And the QD-Mini LED panel with 144Hz, HDMI 2.1, and Dolby Vision support makes it a strong all-rounder for both casual viewers and console gamers alike. For anyone in the market for the best smart TV under 55000 in India, the Lumio Vision 9 (2026) deserves a serious look.
