Bharti Airtel recently launched Airtel Wi-Fi calling service in India. The first-ever voice over Wi-Fi service was launched in Delhi NCR for its customers. The company also promised to roll out the service in the other parts of the country gradually. Now the telecom operator has launched its service in four other states in India.
Today the telecom operator Bharti Airtel launched its Voice over Wi-Fi service in Mumbai, Kolkata, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu. As per the company, the Airtel Wi-Fi service vividly improves the indoor calling experience. The customers can switch to Voice over Wi-Fi calling when they are inside their offices or homes. There is no extra charge for voice calls made using the service and the application consumes minimal data.
The Airtel customers do not require to download any app to the service. In the beginning, the company launched the service in Delhi NCR first and not extending its service to the other four states. The subscribers can make a free call over Airtel Wi-Fi Calling and the application consumes minimal data.
The Airtel subscribers are required to follow the below-mentioned steps to use the service:
- Check smartphone compatibility on in/wifi-calling
- Upgrade device operating software to the latest version that supports Wi-Fi Calling*
- Go to Settings on your mobile phone and Switch On Wi-Fi Calling
- Keep VoLTE switched on as well for a seamless experience
As per the company, the smartphones supporting Airtel Wi-Fi Calling service are all the models of Apple iPhones starting 6s and above, Xiaomi Redmi K20, Redmi K20 Pro and POCO F1, Samsung J6, A10s, On6, S10, S10+, S10e, M20 and all the OnePlus 7 and 6 series devices.
