Video streaming platform Netflix has now enabled its Android users to share their favourite movies and TV shows to their Instagram Stories. The new ability will be going live via the Netflix app for Android. In order to start sharing your movies and TV shows, you need to have the latest Netflix app on your Android smartphone or tablet. It is worth noticing that the iOS version of Netflix app had got Instagram Stories integration earlier this year in January.

The reason why the new development has been added to Netflix is to make it easier for audiences to share movies and shows. To share a movie or a TV show, you have to open your Netflix app and then click on the ‘Share’ button. The app will then show you a list of platforms on which you would want to share your content. From here, you can choose the option of ‘Instagram Stories’.

By doing this, you can share the cover art of the movie or the platform as a Story on Instagram. After this, you will be taken straight to the Instagram app on your Android smartphone. You can then personalise it and then share it with your followers, close friends or even with specific users.

Like every other Story that is shared on Instagram, the stories you share via Netflix will also remain toll 24 hours. However, they will also have a ‘Watch on Netflix’ link back to the title page which will take users to the Netflix app.

The Instagram Stories option is reportedly available in Netflix for Android version 7.9.0. But then, it is also being said that the experience is coming through a server-side update.

The company said in a statement, “You can share the Netflix shows and films you’re in love with directly from the Netflix app to your followers. Pop in a quiz for your friends to guess your favourite characters from a show, or a GIF to reflect your mood after a movie.”

As we mentioned earlier, the iOS version of the Netflix app already has this feature as it was rolled out in January.
