Apple has revealed the winners of the 2026 Apple Design Awards, celebrating creative apps and their developers on the App Store. This year’s winners range from innovative approaches to news, sports, tracking the moon and intriguing puzzles. The awards recognise the importance of excellent design and technology in enabling exploration and connectivity via mobile devices. Guitar Wiz from India was one of the winners and earned the accolade in the Inclusivity category. It’s a fully fledged guitar companion software for a broad spectrum of users that includes live performance support, tuning assistance, chord discovery and interactive learning features.

The Apple Design Awards 2026 honours 12 outstanding applications and games. The awards recognise the creativity, craftsmanship and technical excellence of the development teams. The winners were selected from a competitive pool of 36 global contenders that all delivered excellent app experiences that distinguish them in the market. The prizes were divided into six categories – Delight and Fun, Inclusivity, Innovation, Interaction, Social Impact, and Visuals and Graphics.

Delight and Fun Winner:

App: grug (Ocho, Netherlands) – Daily affirmation app offering meaningful moments of reflection.

Game: Is This Seat Taken? (Poti Poti Studio, Spain) – Cartoon-style logic puzzle game enhancing public transit experiences.

Finalists: Blippo+, Metaballs, BALL x PIT, PowerWash Simulator.

Inclusivity Winner:

App: Guitar Wiz (Bijoy Thangaraj, India) – Guitar toolkit supporting diverse abilities through Apple technologies.

Game: Pine Hearts (Hyper Luminal Games, UK) – Wholesome game rewarding kindness with focus on accessibility.

Finalists: Hearing Buddy, Structured, Sago Mini Jinja’s Garden, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.

Innovation Winner:

App: NBA: Live Games & Scores (NBA Media Ventures, USA) – Immersive viewing with innovative tech for live sports.

Game: Blue Prince (Dogubomb, USA) – Engaging narrative adventure blending exploration and puzzles.

Finalists: D-Day: The Camera Soldier, Detail: AI Video Editor, Pickle Pro, TR-49.

Interaction Winner:

App: Moonlitt: Moon Phase Tracker (Flipping Hues, Italy) – Intuitive lunar tracking app with easy onboarding.

Game: Sago Mini Jinja’s Garden (Sago Mini, Canada) – Kid-friendly gardening game with effortless controls.

Finalists: The Outsiders: Athlete Tracker, Tide Guide, Grand Mountain Adventure 2, TR-49.
