Apple has unveiled the Mac Studio, featuring M4 Max and M3 Ultra chips. p to 16TB SSD, 512GB of unified memory, and Thunderbolt 5 are all features of this little PC.
Priced at Rs 2,14,900, the M4 Max variant is more expensive than the M3 Ultra, which costs Rs 4,29,900.
Customers can pre-order the new Mac Studio starting today on apple.com/store and in the Apple Store app in 28 countries and regions, including the U.S. It will begin arriving to customers and will be in Apple Store locations and Apple Authorized Resellers, starting Wednesday, March 12.
Mac Studio is an AI-powered computer with a GPU that can run large language models with more than 600 billion parameters. It has up to 512GB of unified memory with M3 Ultra, the most ever seen in a personal computer. Mac Studio is optimised for Apple Intelligence.
The Mac Studio with M4 Max‘s 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU, and three times faster Neural Engine provide outstanding single-threaded and multithreaded CPU performance, allowing users to manage demanding workloads. With features like hardware-accelerated mesh shading, dynamic caching, and a second-generation ray-tracing engine, Apple’s M4 Max GPU brings cutting-edge graphics architecture to Mac Studio. With a unified memory of 36GB and compatibility for up to 128GB, users may effectively organise photos and construct intricate compositions.
Compared to a 27-inch iMac with a Core i9 and a Mac Studio with M1 Max, the M4 Max model delivers quicker image processing, build performance, ProRes transcode performance, and video processing in Adobe Photoshop, Xcode, Compressor, and Topaz Video AI. Compressor’s ProRes transcode performance, Topaz Video AI’s video processing performance, and Xcode’s build performance are all enhanced.
However, Mac Studio with M3 Ultra provides performance that is almost twice as fast as M4 Max, 2.6 times faster than M1 Ultra, and 6.4 times faster than the Intel Xeon W-based Mac Pro, which has 16 cores. It has an 80-core GPU, a 32-core Neural Engine for AI and ML, a 32-core CPU, 24 performance cores, and a high-bandwidth memory architecture. With 96GB of unified memory, 512GB of configuration space, and up to 16TB of SSD storage, a Mac Studio with M3 Ultra can hold more than 12 hours of 8K ProRes footage. Hardware-accelerated mesh shading and dynamic caching are features of its sophisticated graphics architecture.
Faster scene rendering, DNA sequencing base calling, token generation, and 8K video rendering are all possible with Mac Studio with M3 Ultra. The 16-core Intel-based Mac Pro with Radeon Pro W5700X can render scenes 2.6 times quicker in Maxon Redshift, generate tokens in LM Studio up to 16.9 times faster, and more, thanks to its enormous unified memory.
Professional productivity is increased with Mac Studio and Apple Intelligence. Writing tools improve writing by summarizing, rewriting, and proofreading. Priority Notifications reduce distractions and allow live transcription in Notes. Siri enhances task acceleration and can provide information about Mac features. ChatGPT integration is available in Writing Tools and Siri, allowing users to leverage ChatGPT’s expertise. Image Playground allows users to express themselves graphically, which boosts productivity in a variety of jobs. These innovative tools help professionals excel at a variety of tasks.
MacOS Sequoia has capabilities like iPhone Mirroring, which allows wireless interaction with iPhone apps and notifications. It also includes the Passwords app, built-in video call backgrounds, Safari highlights, Reader, Video Viewer, Distraction Control, and Personalised Spatial Audio. The new Mac Studio also features a number of fascinating games, such as Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
The new Mac Studio has Thunderbolt 5 connectors, which provide transfer speeds of up to 120 Gb/s, three times faster than the previous version. It supports PCIe extension cards, up to eight Pro Display XDRs at 6K resolution, and many connectivity options, such as 10Gb Ethernet, HDMI, SDXC card slot, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
