Apple upgraded 27-inch iMac with 10th-generation Intel Core processors, latest AMD graphics and more

This fall, iMac can be updated at no cost with macOS Big Sur, the company says

The Cupertino, California based company Apple has upgraded its 27-inch iMac. It now comes with faster Intel processors, AMD graphics, superfast SSDs across the line. In addition to this, the latest iMac has also been redesigned with a nano-texture glass option forĀ  Retina 5K display. It now comes with a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and better audio quality.

Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac and iPad Product Marketing said, ā€œNow more than ever, our customers are relying on the Mac. And many of them need the most powerful and capable iMac we’ve ever made. With blazing performance, double the memory, SSDs across the line with quadruple the storage, an even more stunning Retina 5K display, a better camera, higher fidelity speakers, and studio-quality mics, the 27-inch iMac is loaded with new features at the same price. It’s the ultimate desktop, to work, create, and communicate.ā€

27-inch iMac, 21.5-inch iMac andĀ  iMac Pro price and availability

The 2020 model of 27-inch iMac price has been set at Rs 1,69,990 in India. Whereas the 21.5-inch iMac now comes at Rs 99,900. While on the other hand, the iMac Pro will be available with a starting price of Rs 4,64,900 in the country. In the country, all the models will be available for purchase via Apple Authorised Resellers later this month. 27-inch iMac technical specifications

The Apple iMac 27 inch model 10-core processor option with Turbo Boost speeds reaching 5.0GHz for up to 65 percent faster CPU performance. It comes with double the memory capacity for up to 128GB. graphics have been taken care of by AMD Radeon Pro 5000 series graphics with up to 16GB of GDDR6 memory tat makes editing multiple streams of 4K video, or playing a graphics-intensive game more smooth. According to the company, it can now deliver up to 55 percent faster graphics performance from its Radeon Pro 5000 series graphics.Ā 

For faster performance the 27-inch iMac now comes standard with SSDs across the line, delivering blazing-fast performance up to 3.4GB/s for launching applications and opening large files. According to the company it now also features an 8TB SSD option which is four times the SSD capacity than the previous model. In addition to this, it includes the Apple T2 Security Chip, Apple’s own custom-designed, second-generation silicon.Ā

According to the company, ā€œThe storage controller in the T2 Security Chip provides on-the-fly data encryption for everything stored on the SSD, so files and data are safe and secure. And the T2 chip also checks that software loaded during the boot process has not been tampered with, giving the 27-inch iMac, and any Mac with the T2 chip, the most secure storage and boot process of any computer.ā€

The iMac now features a Retina display with 14.7 million pixels of resolution 1 billion colours, 500 nits of brightness, and support for P3 wide colour for better front-of-screen viewing experience. Therefore you can easily edit 4K video at full resolution. The Retina 5K display on the 27-inch iMac features True Tone technology, which automatically adjusts the colour temperature of the display to match a user’s ambient lighting. In addition to this it now gets a nano-texture glass option for immersive viewing under various lighting conditions. The FaceTime HD camera now features 1080p resolution, while the Image Signal Processor in the T2 Security Chip brings tone mapping, exposure control, and face detection for a much higher quality camera experience.Ā 

21.5-Inch iMac and iMac Pro

The company has also updated its 21.5-inch iMac that now features SSDs across the line for the first time. Customers can also choose to configure their 21.5-inch iMac with a Fusion Drive. The iMac Pro also has a 10-core Intel Xeon processor with up to 18 cores, graphics performance up to 22 teraflops, up to 256GB quad-channel ECC memory, and a 27-inch Retina 5K display.

In addition to this, the company has also revealed that this fall your iMacs can be with macOS Big Sur the company’s latest desktop operating system without having to pay any cost.Ā
