Asus Zenfone 7 tipped to come with a triple rear camera set up: Key details, live images and more leaked

On August 26 Asus will be launching its much-awaited success to its Zenfone 6. The company will be introducing the Asus Zenfone 7 series in its home market Taiwan. Recently a leak surfaced on the web suggesting a 6.4 inches FHD+ LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate support. But in a new development, the device is confirmed to feature a triple rear camera set up with a flip mechanism. At the launch event, the company is expected to introduce two models Asus ZenFone 7 and Asus ZenFone 7 Pro.

According to a fresh leak by SlashLeaks, a picture of the retail box of the vanilla model has been shared revealing the key details of Asus Zenfone 7. As per the retail box, the smartphone with model number ZS670KS should be offering 5G connectivity with dual-SIM slots. The phone is expected to come with a 6.67-inch full-HD+ display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC clocked at 2.8GHz paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage option.

For cameras, the device is stated to feature a triple camera setup that might include a 64-megapixel primary sensor with a secondary 12-megapixel lens along with an 8-megapixel tertiary lens. As it should have a flip mechanism similar to its predecessor the set-up doubles up as a selfie camera as well.

Besides this, live images of the ZenFone 7 retail box along with the handset has been shared via user @diage8888 on Twitter. The images leaked show the rear of the device having a gradient finish. The images suggest a side-mounted fingerprint sensor with a flip camera set up having triple sensors placed horizontally.

While another leak by Slashleaks suggested leaked renders giving a 360-degree look. According to the renders, the phone will have a notch-less and a bezel-less display. The side-mounted fingerprint scanner is visible with a 3.5mm audio jack along with a speaker grille and a USB Type-C port.

While the previous leaks suggest a 6.4 inches FHD+ liquid crystal display (LCD) with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. There will be a standard 60 Hz refresh rate panel. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor will also work as a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

As per a tipster, the smartphone camera setup will include a primary Sony IMX686 64-megapixel sensor with a Sony IMX363 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a Time-of-Fight (ToF) sensor.

According to a Geekbench listing, a device with model number I002D is speculated to be Asus ZenFone 7 Pro. The listing suggests a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ SoC clubbed with 8GB of RAM. It will run on Android 10 OS.
