Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Zenfone Max M2 and Zenfone Max M1 to receive the Android Pie update by April 15

This week, Google rolled out its Android Q developer beta to its Pixel smartphones. And if reports are to be believed, this time, more smartphones would be getting the developer beta of the latest Android version before it is finally unveiled at Google I/O 2019 in May. So it isn’t really surprising that a number of smartphone makers have suddenly started rolling out roadmaps about when their remaining handsets would receive the current Android Pie update.

Yesterday, Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi rolled out a list of its smartphones along with expected months when they would receive the Android Pie update. And just a day after Xiaomi, Taiwanese electronics maker Asus has done the same. Although it has been a while since the devices have been launched, till now, there was no word about Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max M2 handsets.

All three smartphones fall in the budget segment of the Indian smartphone market, and Zenfone Max Pro M2 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 have been appreciated a lot for offering powerful specifications at an affordable price.

However, Asus has finally broken its silence about when the three smartphones will be getting the much-awaited update. In a video that the company has posted on Facebook, Dinesh Sharma, the Head of Mobile Business of Asus India announced that Zenfone Max Pro M2, Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max M2 smartphones will be getting the Android Pie update latest by April 15. So, if you have one among the three smartphones and have been waiting for it to get the update, you don’t have to wait for too long.

In its Facebook post, the company has also apologized about missing the prior deadline for the update. The post reads, “Dear Zenfone family, we deeply apologize for missing our previously announced deadline for the Android Pie update. We promise it won’t be the same this time around. We should add here that Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max Pro M2 have already received the Android Pie beta update, but are yet to receive a stable update. Currently, the beta update is being tested by a limited number of people who have signed up for it.

With Android Pie, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Zenfone Max M2 smartphones will get features like Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, App Actions, and more.
