Last month at its Galaxy Unpacked event Samsung announced the introduction of its most anticipated foldable phones- Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. Today both devices went on sale in India for the very first time. Both phones are powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.
Samsung’s ‘Made in India’ foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, will be available beginning on August 18. But the devices were available for pre-bookings since earlier last month on Samsung.com, Amazon.in and Flipkart.
According to the company, the newly launched foldable has seen a strong demand in India, with 100,000 consumers pre-booking the smartphones in the first 28 hours.

In India, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has been released in three different configurations: 12GB RAM with 256GB of internal storage costs Rs 154,999; 12GB RAM with 512GB costs Rs 164,99; and 12GB RAM with 1TB costs Rs 184,999. The first two variants will be available in Icy Blue, Cream, and Phantom Black while the 1TB variation will only be available in Icy Blue.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, on the other hand, will be available in two distinct configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM with 512GB storage. Both versions are priced at Rs 99,999 and Rs 109,999 in India, respectively. The colours Mint, Cream, Graphite, and Lavender will be available in both variants.
As per the company consumers purchasing Galaxy Z Fold 5 will get benefits worth Rs 18,000, while those buying Galaxy Z Flip 5 can avail benefits worth Rs 16,000.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specifications
The 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a resolution of 2,176 x 1,812 pixels. A 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X outside display with a 2316 x 904 pixel resolution is featured on the phone. For structural robustness, it incorporates a flex hinge and an armoured aluminium frame. The phone is IPX8 water resistant, so users can unwind if they are caught in the rain.

One UI 5.1.1, based on Android 13, is the user interface for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform for Galaxy. The triple rear camera system on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 consists of a 50MP sensor with a wide-angle lens, a 12MP sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP sensor with a telephoto lens. A 4MP under-display camera is situated below the inner screen, while a 10MP selfie and video call camera is set at the top of the outer display. The Galaxy Z Flip 5 boasts two 12MP back camera sensors and a 10MP selfie camera, in contrast.
The smartphone has a standard dual battery with a capacity of 4,400mAh.

The 6.7-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex primary display of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is paired with a 3.4-inch Super AMOLED cover screen. The new Flex Window is 3.78 times larger than the previous version and includes a variety of both old and new capabilities. The gadget is powered by Android 13 with OneUI 5.1.1.
A dual back camera system with a 12-megapixel ultra-wide primary sensor is featured on the new foldable phone. Also incorporated is a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera. A 10-megapixel selfie camera for selfies is featured on the front of the foldable display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5.
The phone additionally features a 3,700mAh battery with 25W rapid charging.
