Garmin has introduced the Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570 in India, which are powerful GPS running and triathlon smartwatches built for runners and triathletes. The Forerunner 970 is a high-end GPS gadget designed to help athletes smash personal records. It has multi-band GPS, full-colour maps, and better navigation to help users remain on track. When coupled with a smartphone, the gadget can last up to 15 days and includes built-in calling capabilities. The Forerunner 970 has a tough sapphire lens and titanium bezel, an integrated LED torch for better vision in low-light situations, and a running tolerance function that tracks the impact of each run on the body. The HRM 600 heart rate monitor evaluates an athlete’s energy efficiency after a run, and the step speed loss function measures how much their foot slows down as they land.
The Forerunner 970 is a wrist-worn device that supports Garmin Coach training programs for running, triathlon, cycling, and strength, allowing users to prepare for events, achieve goals, and improve fitness. It gives users a personalised readiness score based on sleep quality, recovery, training load, and other factors, allowing them to decide whether to push themselves or rest. It also has dynamic round-trip routing, which suggests routes that loop back to the beginning point and instantly recalculates a new route if off track.
The Forerunner 570 is also geared towards athletes, including advanced metrics like as training status, wrist-based power, and VO2 max. It also offers daily workouts that are specifically targeted to the user’s performance and recovery. It comes in two case sizes (42 mm and 47 mm) and six colours, allowing for a more personalised fit and style. In smartwatch mode, the watch has a battery life of up to 11 days, while GPS mode lasts 18 hours.
