Google Photos is now going cross-platform and is now getting a new update in which the users are now allowed to sync liked images with Apple Photos for a better user experience.
In addition to this, Google Pixel devices are also getting a new filter as part of the December feature drop. The company has introduced a new editing tab namely Suggestions which will now offer machine learning-based filters in Google Photos to edit images in the app itself. Moreover, there will be a Dynamic filter to brighten up the and change colour contrast for sunset and sunrise pictures.
According to a new report by Android Police, Google is rolling out a new feature to Google Photos app to let the user sync liked pictures with Apple Photos. The new feature can be accessed through the Settings menu of the Android app for iOS. Tap on your profile photo at the top right corner and open settings. In the settings, you will see a new Apple Photos menu to let you access the new sync feature.
When the feature is enabled on the app, pictures which are liked in Apple photos will now be starred in Google Photos and vice versa while the unfavourite photo in Apple will show up in other apps as well. According to Google, iOS users may already see the prompt in the app and can turn it on to sync features via the Favourites. If the feature is turned off the already favourited photos will still remain favourites. While the report notes that the Apple app will sync almost instantly when you star an image in Google Photos. According to the publisher, the process is a “bit slower when reversed, though, with Google Photos taking a minute or two to catch up. Closing the app and opening it again, forcing a refresh, will hurry that process along.”
Apart from this Google Pixel phones are getting ML-based filters to edit the pictures natively using the new editing suite new in Google Photos. A tab called Suggestions has been introduced with the capability of editing pictures within the app. The Tab will include other filters such as Vivid, Luminous, Radiant, Ember, Airy, Afterglow, and Stormy.
Besides suggestion, a Dynamic filter to enhance the brightness, contrast and colour in addition to sunset and sunrise suggestions. According to Google, this will help you create stunning sunset and sunrise images in just one tap.
