HMD Global launched Nokia 7.2 with a 48-megapixel camera and PureDisplay screen in India today

HMD Global today announced the launch of the Nokia 7.2 in India. The latest smartphone has been teased by the company for quite a long time now and was also introduced at the IFA tech summit 2019, which was held earlier this month. The newly launched Nokia 7.2 is a part of Google’s Android One Programme. The key highlights include a triple rear camera set up with a 48-megapixel camera powered by ZEISS optics. Additionally, it comes with a PureDisplay panel with always-on HDR technology and Nordic design.

Nokia 7.2 pricing and launch offers

The company has introduced Nokia 7.2 in India in two colours options Charcoal and Cyan Green. The smartphone also comes in two RAMs and storage variants, 4GB with 64GB storage and 6GB with 128GB storage. These are available at a price of Rs 18,599 and Rs 19,599 respectively. The phone will be available for purchase online on Flipkart as well as on the Nokia online store starting from September 23.

On the purchase of the smartphone, the buyers will get 10 percent cash back through the offline stores using HDFC Bank cards. This offer is available until October 31. If transactions are made via Pinelabs terminals while opting for HDFC consumer finance the buyers will also get 10 percent cashback. The company is also offering zero down payment, zero processing fee, and no interest cost on the purchase of Nokia 7.2 if transactions are done via Bajaj Finance, IDFC First Bank, HDFC Bank CD loans and HDBFS, valid until October 31.

Telecom service provider Reliance Jio is also offering benefits worth Rs 7,200 to its consumers buying the phone on the prepaid recharge of Rs 198 and Rs 299. This offer includes cashback of Rs 2,200 along with vouchers worth Rs 3,000 from Cleartrip and Rs 2,200 discount from Zoomcar.

Ecommerce website Flipkart is offering 5 percent cash back to its customers if the payment is made using an HDFC Bank debit card valid till September 28. Whereas customers buying the phone during Big Billion Days sale can avail an instant discount of 10 percent using ICICI Bank and Axis Bank cards.

On the other hand, purchasing the phone via Nokia India online store buyers can avail a gift card valued at Rs 2,000 applicable till October 31.

Nokia 7.2 comes with a 6.3-inch full-HD+ display with HDR10 support,500 nits brightness and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The device runs on Android 9 Pie upgradable to Android 10. The users get a three-month membership trial to Google One worth Rs 130 a month with no extra cost. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In terms of camera, it features a triple rear camera setup that comprises of a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.2 wide-angle lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.  For selfies, it includes a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture. The camera set up is supported by Zeiss Optics that offers three bokeh modes- Zeiss Modern, Zeiss Swirl, and Zeiss Smooth. Over that, it also comes with artificial intelligence (AI) based camera features, which also include a night mode.

Nokia 7.2 includes all the necessary modern connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone packs a 3,500mAh battery and strides along with a rear fingerprint sensor.
