The electronics major LG announced a new face mask that comes with an air purifier. The company has unveiled the PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier face mask that comes with portable protection. According to the company, it will be showcasing the mask at this year’s IFA that is going to be held in September in the wearable air purifier technology category.
As per company the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier face mask will be available starting the Q4 in select markets only. But before it is made available to the public it will be presented at the upcoming virtual tech event IFA 2020 that will be hosted in Berlin.
The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier will be a solution to the problem of homemade or shortages or inconsistent quality of disposable masks these days. Addressing the issue, the LG face mask comes with two H13 HEPA filters which the company is already using in its home air purifier products. This will allow PuriCare masks to supply fresh, clean air indoors and outdoors.
In addition to this, the wearable also equips Dual Fans and patented Respiratory Sensor to let the users inhale clean and filtered air. While the Respiratory Sensor senses the cycle and volume of the wearer’s breath and adjusts the dual three-speed fans accordingly. Both the fans automatically get faster to assist air intake and reduce speed to decrease resistance when letting your breath out to make you breathe naturally.
The LG PuriCare Wearable has been designed for a comfortable use based on all-embracing facial shape analysis that fits comfortably on the user’s face therefore not letting any air leakage around the nose and chin area. It can be worn for a longer period of time as it is lightweight and battery operated. It comes with an 820mAh battery capacity that can deliver up to eight hours of operation in low mode and two hours on high.
In addition to this, the company also provides a case that helps to keep the face mask clean and hygienic. The case employs UV-LED lights that kills harmful germs while also keeping it charged simultaneously. Not only this, the case also sends a notification to the LG ThinQ mobile app (Android/iOS) when the filters need to be replaced for better performance.
As per LG every component of the Wearable Air Purifier from filters to the ear straps are replaceable and recyclable.
While introducing the new wearable Dan Song, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company said “The PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is an exciting addition to our growing line-up of products designed to deliver meaningful health and hygiene benefits.” He further added, “At a time when consumers are seeking ways to make life safer and more convenient, it’s important that we’re able to offer solutions that add measurable value.”
