HMD Global is known for rolling out timely updates to its Nokia devices. So much so, that now we know that if a Nokia smartphone is being launched, it will fall under Google’s Android One programme. And now, the company has rolled out the Android 9.0 Pie update for its Nokia 3.1 Plus handset.
However, it is an over-the-air update that is being rolled out in a phased manner and it will reach all Nokia 3.1 Plus users in the next few days’ time. It is worth noticing that the update for Nokia 3.1 Plus comes just days after the company released the update for its Nokia 2.1 and Nokia 8 devices.
With this, the entire lineup of Nokia smartphones from HMD Global is close to being updated to Android Pie which, we think is very impressive.
The announcement of Android Pie update coming to Nokia 3.1 Plus was made by HMD Global’s chief product officer Juho Sarvikas on microblogging website Twitter today. All the updates by HMD Global are released in phases and patches. So, don’t be surprised if your friend receives it and you don’t.

But then, if you don’ want to wait for the official update, you can go to ‘Settings’ of your smartphone and then go to ‘About Phone’. After this, go to ‘Software updates’ and manually check for the update.
The exact size of the Android Pie update for Nokia 3.1 Plus (review) is not known yet. However, we do know that it will get new system navigation, upgraded settings menu, and some enhancements to notifications to the device. In addition to this, with Android Pie, Nokia 3.1 Plus will also get Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness, and Predictive App Actions. The latest update also gets the February security patch to the Nokia 3.1 Plus handset.
HMD Global launched the Nokia 3.1 Plus smartphone in October 2018. The device comes with a 6.1-inch HD+ (720×1440 pixels) IPS display and is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) processor.
