Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 6 and Nokia 5 start receiving December security update

HMD global has started releasing the security update of Nokia 6, Nokia 8 Sirocco and Nokia 5. According to the changelog of the said devices, the security update for Nokia 8 Sirocco is 80MB in size and for Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, it is 100MB.

It is worth noticing that Android 9.0 Pie hasn’t yet been rolled out for the Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The same goes for Nokia 8 Sirocco, even though it is a flagship device. However, since HMD global has started a public Beta test of Android 9.0 Pie for Nokia 8, it will probably receive the update soon.

Nokia’s site security update tracker–from where people check the when their phone’s update would come–has become obsolete because it shows update only until 13th November. The site was previously very useful to people as they could check for updates from time to time.
