OnePlus 9 series renders leak suggests a rectangular camera module similar to OnePlus 8T

The OnePlus 9 series is tipped to launch in March next year

OnePlus 9 series leaks and rumours have been doing the rounds on the web for quite some time now. Previously, the devices were spotted on Geekbench suggesting Snapdragon 875 SoC while the leaked renders suggested design tweaks. Some reports also suggested the upcoming series to have a third model. In a new development, the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 renders have surfaced therefore revealing the camera setup. The base model is tipped to feature a triple rear camera set up while the Pro model is likely to have a quad-camera set up at the back.

As per the leaked render of OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 by Onleaks, the possible design of both the smartphones has been revealed.  The leaked renders of the Pro model suggest a 6.7-inch display with a hole-punch to house a selfie camera placed on the top left corner of the screen. In addition to this, the display has thin bezels and curved edges. The bottom of the phone has a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille while the power button and the Alert Slider are positioned on the right side of the frame. The left side has a volume rocker. Speaking more of the design the rear of the phone has a rectangular-shaped quad-camera module inspired by OnePlus 8T. The three lenses are positioned vertically while the fourth lens sits beside the LED flash. According to the tipster the series is said to launch in March 2021.

Another report by 91Mobiles has revealed the camera details of the standard OnePlus 9 model. The live images of the device show three camera sensors sitting inside a rectangular shaped module. Two of the three sensors are large-sized lenses. Some of the reports suggest a 48-megapixel primary sensor with 6mm focal length and another 48-megapixel ultra-wide secondary sensor. While the rest of the camera details remain undisclosed at the moment.

Previously, OnePlus 9 series phones were spotted on Geekbench with model number LuBan LE2117 for the standard model that will be powered by a processor codenamed ‘lahaina’. According to a Weibo user’s analysis, the codenamed processor is likely to be an octa-core processor Snapdragon 875 SoC with a base frequency of 1.80GHz and is listed to be offering 8GB of RAM.  The OnePlus 9 series handset managed to achieve a single-core score of 1,122 and a multi-core score of 2,733.

Previous reports suggest a 144Hz display with a hole-punch cut-out. The display will be IP68-certified for dust and water resistance along with NFC support. It is likely to have dual stereo speakers and it might offer 65W fast wired and 40W wireless charging support
