OnePlus is working on its next smartphone and that seems to be none other than the OnePlus 9T. Yes, the device is under the pipeline and it has been leaked ahead of its official announcement. The device is a member of the existing OnePlus 9 series and a follow up of the OnePlus 8T which was launched last year. The phone is tipped to come with a Samsung LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support similar to the OnePlus 9 Pro.
According to a tipster on Weibo, the upcoming OnePlus 9T will make use of the Samsung E4 LTPO OLED display that will come with a 120Hz variable refresh rate. The display will offer a full-HD+ resolution. Notably, a similar feature is present in the OnePlus 9 Pro that features an AMOLED LTPO display with a 120Hz refresh rate.
So those who are unaware LTPO display is a type that allows the phone to play with its refresh rate that means it can fall back from 120Hz to as low as 1Hz. This helps in achieving the phone a longer and better battery life. However, the OnePlus 9 Pro comes with a higher display resolution of 1,440×3,216 pixels.
Other specs of the upcoming smartphone remain a mystery, but as its release time comes closer we will see more leaks and official announcements. Traditionally, the company rolls out the T-variant after six months of the launch of its flagship smartphone series that also happened with the last generation of the OnePlus 8T which came into the market after 6 months of the OnePlus 8 series arrival. So if we go by the company’s tradition the OnePlus 9 Series was introduced in March this year then the 9T is planned for the September-October release.
To recollect, the OnePlus 8T was launched in India in October last year. It comes in two different configurations of 8GB RAM with 128GB storage priced at Rs 42,999, while the 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage variant comes with a price tag of Rs 45,999. The device is available in Lunar silver colour and Aquamarine colour variants.
