OnePlus is the latest tech brand to finally join the AI trend. The company has officially announced that its devices will soon have AI features like AI Eraser image editing similar to Google Pixel’s Magic Eraser and Object Eraser on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. The new editing tool has the in-house huge language model support.
OnePlus today announced the rollout of a new AI Eraser image editing feature for OnePlus smartphones. As per the company the latest AI feature OnePlus’ AI Eraser, is powered by its unique large language model. By using a range of advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence, AI Eraser allows users to quickly identify and eliminate undesired elements from photos from the Photo Gallery. The feature will be released to select OnePlus devices.

Once the user highlights particular objects/elements in the image, such as trash, pedestrians, or imperfections, the underlying AI analyses the selected area and creates an automatically generated replacement background that matches the image’s overall style and blends seamlessly into the surrounding environment, generating flawless, picture-perfect images.
According to OnePlus, the AI Eraser is the result of an important R&D investment made by the company to guarantee the dependability and accuracy of content generated by AI. The new function is the result of OnePlus’s own LLM, which has been trained on a big dataset to understand complicated scenarios. AI Eraser’s sophisticated visual comprehension enables it to cleverly replace undesired objects with contextually relevant aspects that enhance the image’s appeal naturally. This gives users the freedom to alter high-quality photos anytime, anywhere.

The AI Eraser makes image editing simple and accessible to all users, regardless of prior photo editing skills, by doing away with the necessity for complex manual editing or the use of dedicated photo editing software.

AI Eraser will be rolled out gradually to OnePlus devices including the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus 11, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus Nord CE 4 starting this month.
