Poco M2 with MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor launched in India today: Specs and smartphone price

The device comes with a 5,000mAh battery along with 18W fast charging

Poco M2 has now been officially launched in India. The device is a watered-down variant of Poco M2 Pro, which made its debut in India in July this year. Rumours suggest that the device is a twisted variant of Redmi note 9 Pro. It comes with MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor, a quad-camera setup, near edge-to-edge display and packed with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging. Read on to know more.

Poco M2 price and availability in India

Poco M2 has been launched in India in two different variants 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Both options come with a price tag of Rs 10,999 and Rs 12,499. Available in three colour options Pitch Black, Slate Blue, and Brick Red the device is scheduled to go on sale in the country via e-commerce website Flipkart on September 15 starting at 12 noon onwards. Buyers will be able to avail of an additional INR 750 instant discount when transacting through ICICI (credit cards or debit card EMIs) and Federal Bank (debit cards).

Poco M2 specifications and features

Poco M2 comes with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display with 1,080×2,340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. It has been layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it from accidental damage and scratches. The display is reading mode certified by TÜV Rheinland. The device runs on MIUI 11 for POCO based on Android 10. Under the hood, there is MediaTek Helio G80 octa-core processor with two Cortex-A75 cores at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz paired with Mali G52 GPU and 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM with up to 128GB of storage. The onboard storage can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card.

Poco M2 features a quad camera setup on its rear consisting of a 13-megapixel primary. Assisted by an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera housed inside a notch on the front display. Users will also be able to take full HD footage on the macro camera.

In terms of connectivity, there is dual-band Wi-Fi, dual VoLTE support, 4G, Bluetooth v5.0, IR Blaster, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C port for charging. The sensors on the phone includes an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI Face unlock. Poco M2 packs a 5,000mAh built-in battery with support for 18W fast charging but ships a 10W charger inside the box.
