Poco M3 goes official, comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC and features triple rear cameras

Xiaomi today officially introduced its latest device under its sub-brand Poco. The newly launched Poco M3 is the company’s latest budget smartphone which comes with a Dot Drop design also known as a waterdrop-style display. This is the company’s third addition to its M-series which already includes Poco M2 and Poco M2 Pro. The key specs of the device include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor and a triple rear camera set up which comes with a new design.

Poco M3 comes with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display offering 1,080×2,340 pixels of resolution with a screen-to-body ratio of 90.34 percent and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is protected with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass. The device ships MIUI 12 for Poco based on the top of Android 10.

Under the hood, there is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage. The device has a rectangular-shaped triple rear camera set up that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1 aperture. Furthermore, there is a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture. Upfront there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.05 aperture.

Poco M3 houses a 6,000mAh battery that comes with 18W fast charging support. In terms of connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack and a USB Type-C port for charging. There is an Infrared (IR) blaster on the phone along with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.

Poco M3 price and availability details

Poco M3 has made its debut in the market. There the device is available in two different configurations 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM with 128GB storage option. The 64GB RAM option comes with a price tag of $149 that translates to Rs 11,000 while the 128GB storage option comes at $169 that translates to Rs 12,500. However, the device will be available at an introductory discount of $20 via Black Friday sale that will be hosted via various online channels AliExpress, Amazon, Alza.ca, eMAG, Lazada, Mi.com, Mi-Home.pl, and X-Kom. The phone will be offered in three colour options Cool Blue, Poco Yellow, and Power Black. The Indian availability of the smartphone is yet to be revealed by the company.
