The Chinese electronics giant, Redmi, today announced the launch of its latest mobile handset in the Indian market. The company has introduced Redmi 10 Prime, which is the follow up of Redmi 9 Prime. The device features a 50-megapixel triple rear camera and a 90Hz punch-hole design display. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio G88 SoC and is laden with a 6,000mAh battery. Redmi 10 Prime has been launched in India in two different configurations. The price of the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage has been set at Rs 12,499 whereas the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage options will come at Rs 14,499. The device will be offered in three colour options of Astral White, Bifrost White, and Phantom Black. The mobile phone is scheduled to be available for purchase from September 7 onwards via Amazon, Mi.com, Mi Home stores, Mi Studios, and other retail outlets in the country.

The company will be offering Rs 750 instant discount to HDFC Bank cardholders and EMI transactions.

Speaking of the specifications, Redmi 10 Prime will come with a 6.5-inch full-HD+display with 1,080×2,400 pixels of resolution and a 90Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display also offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 layering. The device runs on MIUI 12.5 on top of Android 11 out of the box. It is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio G88 SoC paired with ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It will be offered with up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The storage can be expanded up to 512GB and there is an option of 2GB virtual RAM expansion.

For the photos and videos, Redmi 10 Prime features a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. For taking selfies and video calling the handset sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The rear camera offers full-HD video recording at 1080p and slow motion in 720p resolution.

The Redmi 10 Prime boasts a massive 6,000mAh battery that comes with 10W fast charging support and a 22.5W charger that comes inside the retail box. In terms of connectivity, the device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, FM radio, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. While the sensors on the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor,  an accelerometer, ambient light, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
