Jio envisions to take this to every town and village of India, achieving 100% digital literacy in the country,”
The new Digital Udaan initiative will engage its users each Saturday and help them to acquire knowledge about the JioPhone features and teach them how to access various apps. They will also make them understand internet safety and how to use Facebook on JioPhone to connect with their friends and family in a simple, safe and secure way.
According to the company, it has worked with social networking platform Facebook to ensure that the segments developed for the Digital Udaan programme are appropriate for the users in their cities and localities. This will provide trainer sessions, training videos and information brochures.
Reliance Jio claims that initially, the Digital Udaan programme was launched by the company in 200 different locations across 13 States. The company aims to spread the programme over 7,000 locations that will empower its Jio phone users and first-time internet users. This initiative will connect its users digitally to the country and the world. This will provide knowledge to the people about government programmes and their benefits, how to access the important services and entertainment on their handsets via Facebook, and various Jio Apps.
