Samsung Galaxy M12 with quad cameras and a 6,000mAh battery launched

Samsung has finally unveiled the much rumoured Samsung Galaxy M12 smartphone in the market, The device has been leaked and rumoured for a long long time and has now been officially launched. It is the successor of  Samsung Galaxy M11 that was introduced last year in March. However, the phone has debuted in Vietnam but the speculations suggest that the company has already begun the mass production of M12 in India. The device will be available in distinct colour options and it features a 6,000mAh battery, waterdrop-style display and comes with a quad rear camera set up.

The South Korean company is yet to reveal the pricing and configuration options of the Samsung Galaxy M12 smartphone. However, Samsung Vietnam site listing suggests it will be offered in three colour options of Attractive Black, Elegant Blue, and Trendy Emerald Green. 

Previously the phone appeared on various certifications and benchmarking websites that suggested that it will also be launched in India soon. The Samsung Galaxy M12 has reportedly gone into mass production in India at its Noida factory. Although the company has not yet revealed the launch date but the report suggests a launch could be expected soon.

Samsung Galaxy M12 specifications

Samsung Galaxy M12 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ TFT Infinity-V Display. The screen offers 720×1,600 pixels of resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The device runs One UI Core on top of  Android OS. Under the hood, there is an octa-core SoC whereas the speculations suggest it could be powered by Exynos 850 SoC paired with  3GB, 4GB, and 6GB RAM options. For storing contents the phone will be available in 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB of storage options that can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card.

For the photos and videos, the Samsung Galaxy M12 features a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with  f/2.0 aperture. Furthermore, there is a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture with 123-degree of field-of-view (FoV), a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. While on the front there is an 8-megapixel camera sensor for taking selfies and video calling with  f/2.2 aperture.

The smartphone is backed by a 6,000mAh battery and is touted to offer up to 58 hours of talk time on a 4G network. In terms of connectivity, there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The sensors on the phone include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an accelerometer, ambient light and a proximity sensor.
