Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event confirmed for August 11

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 listing revealed the pricing of the foldable smartphones.

Samsung has officially confirmed that the next Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to happen on August 11. Previously, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event was tipped to happen on August 8 but some reports before the official announcement claimed that the event will be hosted on August 11. Samsung has the tradition of hosting Galaxy Unpacked events to announce its new devices. The Rumour mills suggest that the company might be showcasing five devices that will include Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch Active 4, and Galaxy Buds 2

Samsung usually hosts two mega-events during a year out of which one has already taken place in January and the second one is about to happen. The company has officially announced it will host its next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11. It is going to be an online presentation that will kickstart at 10 AM ET and 7.30 PM IST. The dedicated launch event will be live-streamed through the company’s official website as well as via the YouTube channel.

While making the announcement the company stated, “We live in a time of accelerated change – from rapid shifts in work culture to the rise of cutting-edge communication technologies. Now more than ever, there is a need for flexible, versatile mobile devices that can keep up with the fast pace of our lives so we can maximize and enjoy every moment.”

It further added, “Join Samsung Electronics this August 11 for a Galaxy Unpacked event to unfold the next chapter in mobile innovations designed to help you make the most of every moment, no matter where you are. The event will be broadcast on Samsung Newsroom India and Samsung.com at 7.30 pm IST or 10 a.m. ET, so make sure to tune in for a close-up look at the latest Galaxy devices.”

The video teaser suggests two foldable devices that indicate the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Besides this, the company is also expected to introduce Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch Active 4. In addition to this, the company will also showcase the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone, and the Galaxy Buds 2 truly wireless (TWS) earbuds at the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11.

The company has not officially revealed much information but as per European retailer LambdaTek leaked listing Galaxy Z Fold 3 256GB storage model will be available at EUR 1,678.51 that translates to Rs 1,47,400 whereas the 512GB model is said to come at EUR 1,783.10 translating to Rs 1,56,600 excluding VAT. With VAT the former one will be offered at EUR 2,031 (approx Rs 1,78,400) whereas the latter one at EUR 2,157.55 (approx Rs 1,89,500). The foldable device will be available in Phantom Green, Phantom Silver, and Phantom Black colour options as per the listing.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 has also been listed, revealing that the foldable phone will retail at EUR 978.13 including VAT, which translates to Rs 85,900 and EUR 1,183.54 that comes around Rs 1,03,900 without VAT for the 128GB storage variant. The 256GB model is listed to be priced at EUR 1,029.20 that translates to Rs 90,400 including VAT and EUR 1,245.33 excluding VAT that translates to Rs 1,09,400. The device is listed to come in Phantom Black, Dark Blue, Gray, White, Cream, Green, Light Pink, and Lavender colour options.
