Sony Xperia Pro launched with a micro-HDMI connector for professional photography

Sony Xperia Pro is the Sony’s latest smartphone specially meant for professional photographers. The Sony flagship comes with the capability to be used as a monitor for your camera or even a camcorder to go live with the help of a micro-HDMI port. The phone features a high-quality 6.5-inch 4K OLED display and comes with a 5G connectivity. On can also transfer videos from the phone to the FTP server too. There is a triple rear camera setup on the phone, Dolby Atmos audio technology and a 4,000mAh battery.

Sony is yet to reveal the international availability of the Sony Xperia Pro but the flagship smartphone has made its debut in the US. There the phone is priced at $2,499.99 that translates to Rs 1,82,500. The device will be available for purchase via Sony online store, Amazon and B&H Photo Video.

To recall Sony Xperia Pro was announced by the company in February last year as a 5G phone. As for the specifications, the device borrows its professional camera capabilities from the Sony Alpha camera or camcorder. It features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with 1,644×3,840 pixels of resolution. The high-quality display offers a 21:9 aspect ratio and it offers a 100 percent DCI-P3 100 colour gamut with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. It further includes a CineAltra powered dedicated Creator mode. The phone runs on Android 10 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS storage. The storage can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card for storing more content.

In terms of camera capabilities, Sony Xperia Pro features a triple camera set up on the back of the phone which includes an Exmor RS 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.7 aperture. The additional two sensors comes with a resolution of 12-megapixels with f/2.4 lens and an f/2.2 and 124-degree field-of-view (FoV). On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Sony Xperia Pro further includes a 4,000mAh battery support for Xperia Adaptive Charging and USB Power Delivery (PD) fast charge. The device also includes front-firing speakers with Dolby Atmos audio technology support. In terms of connectivity, there is 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C, micro-HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack.
