WhatsApp’s beta version now includes a ‘Remind Me’ function, which allows users to select presets or specify an exact time when the messaging service should remind them of previously read chats. This feature is available in the most recent WhatsApp beta for Android and is expected to be rolled out to iOS users. WhatsApp currently displays reminders to react to unread messages on iOS and Android, and chat systems.
According to WABetaInfo, the latest version of WhatsApp, 2.25.21.14, has been made available for Android Beta. Some beta testers may now create notification reminders for chat messages thanks to the upgrade.
This feature enables WhatsApp to send alerts highlighting unread messages from contacts with whom they engage the most regularly, which is valuable for users who may have mistakenly missed a message from someone with whom they connect frequently. WhatsApp intends to extend this functionality to all messages, providing users greater choice over which reminders they get.

How does it work?
Beta testers may now set reminders per message and schedule alerts to remind users to revisit certain messages at specific times. This function guarantees that relevant content is revived at the appropriate time, preventing users from being lost in ongoing conversations. It also helps to underline important details or tasks addressed in a chat, ensuring that they are not ignored in ongoing conversations.
WhatsApp users may create a follow-up reminder for a specific message by going to the message settings menu. This function provides predefined intervals such as two hours, eight hours, or one day, making it simple to schedule a reminder. Users can also tailor the setting to their schedule, making it ideal for coordinating responses around meetings or deadlines. This tool makes it easy to look at and handle follow-up messages.

After setting a reminder, WhatsApp displays a bell icon in the message bubble to help users recognise flagged messages. When the scheduled period arrives, WhatsApp sends a notification with important information such as the original message text, thumbnail previews for pictures, videos, or GIFs, and the chat where the reminder was generated, so users know where to return to the chat.
WhatsApp allows users to set up private message reminders on their device, assuring privacy and secrecy. This privacy allows messages to be organised without feeling pressured or concerned about their visibility. WhatsApp does not store any information about the reminders users create or their content, so no one else in the conversation is aware of the reminder.
