Xiaomi will launch RedmiBook and Mi-laptops in India after lockdown gets over

During an online meeting with the retailers, the company’s head revealed it would launch new products

As the whole world is struggling with the coronavirus impact the Chinese smartphone and electronics majors are moving ahead with their launches to recover their loss due to COVID-19 lockdown. Xiaomi is one of the many companies who is stuck between whether to go ahead with their launches in India as the government has extended the lockdown till May 3 in the country. Many smartphones, laptops and other gadgets are long due in the country. But the company is hoping to soon bring the long-awaited RedmiBook and Mi-laptops to India. 

Earlier this year the company was scheduled to bring the RedmiBook 13 notebook to the Indian market but unfortunately could not. It even got a trademark for RedmiBook in the country registered. Now the company is again planning to bring the MI laptops to India however it did not confirm any official timeline to launch the Redmi device.

Via an online meeting with the retailers Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain revealed to launch Redmibook and Mi laptops in India soon. This piece of information was shared by tipster Ishan Agarwal via its Twitter account. His tweet reads, “@manukumarjain said in today’s online meeting with retailers that Mi/ Redmi Laptops will launch in India ASAP (HOPE!). Didn’t provide any concrete date/timeline. Not planning to launch any Tabs like Mi Pad, though. Didn’t comment on upcoming launches like Mi 10 lite/K30 Pro”

This indicated that the company is ready to launch its products in the country but is waiting until the lockdown is lifted. Until the lockdown is over the government has banned the sale of non-essential items such as smartphones and other electronics gadgets.

Even before the lockdown was not there Manu Kumar Jain dropped a hint about the launch of its Mi10 series in India stating that the Mi 10 series might be pricier in India. 

Also, there are so many leaks floating on the web that indicates that the company is going to bring its latest K30 Pro series to India under its spin-off Poco. In India, it will be rebranded as Poco F2 Pro.
