The way people handle money has changed fast in the last two decades. Tapping a card on a machine and paying with a phone still feels fairly new. But digital wallets have become part of daily life. They’re everywhere now. They can be used for shopping and even playing games. And while the idea sounds technical, the truth is that digital wallets are simply tools designed to make storing and using money more flexible and secure.
Bitcoin and the Early Adopters
When Bitcoin came along in 2009, it needed a way to be stored. You couldn’t keep it in a traditional bank or even stash it under a mattress. The solution was digital wallets. These wallets made it possible to hold and send Bitcoin with just a few clicks.
Some industries caught onto the idea earlier than others. The gambling industry was quick to embrace Bitcoin. Crypto casinos offered a way to play using digital coins and showed many people how practical digital wallets could be. These casinos set an example of how digital wallets weren’t just for holding value but also for spending it directly. That early adoption highlighted the potential long before other sectors caught on.
The selection of games can still be large on these crypto platforms. There are many Bitcoin casino games that have the feel of classic casino games. There are also many new and interesting ideas, such as Crash games. These have become more popular in the Bitcoin age – some are based on stock market graphics. They show that Bitcoin can even influence a whole industry and its ideas.
What Exactly Is a Digital Wallet?
A digital wallet is software that lets people store money electronically. But instead of a folded piece of leather in your pocket, it’s an app on your phone or even a browser extension. Digital wallets store both traditional currencies and digital assets like Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
There are two main types: hot wallets and cold wallets.
Hot wallets are connected to the internet and are easy to use for quick payments. Cold wallets are offline and mainly used for long-term storage. Both rely on cryptography to keep funds secure. Keys are used to prove ownership and allow transactions. Without those keys, access to the wallet is impossible.
Think of it as a digital version of carrying your ID and credit card around. The technology sits quietly in the background. It springs into action when needed and records the transfer.
Digital wallets aren’t only for crypto fans. They’ve spread into almost every corner of life. Online shopping platforms accept them for quick payments. Travel apps use them for booking flights and hotels. Even public transport systems in some cities now allow passengers to pay with a quick tap of a phone connected to a digital wallet.
Subscriptions for music and games often connect directly to wallets. This means people don’t need to enter their card details again and again. It reduces checkout friction. The whole process can be easier and more speedily.
And of course, they’ve become central in gaming. Many mobile games and digital marketplaces let players buy items instantly with wallet-linked payments. This blurs the line between real-world money and digital currencies, especially when tokens or credits are involved.
Digital Wallets and Security
One of the biggest draws of digital wallets is security. Physical wallets can be stolen or lost. Digital wallets use encryption and other advanced tools to protect money. Transactions often require multiple steps of verification before they’re approved. Biometrics might even be part of the equation.
Some wallets go a step further with two-factor authentication. In addition to your password, the app asks for a code sent to your phone or email. This makes it harder for anyone else to gain access. And since crypto transactions are recorded on the blockchain. Each move has a digital paper trail that makes it extremely difficult to alter or fake.
This emphasis on security is why industries that value trust have leaned heavily on digital wallet technology. Players want reassurance that deposits and withdrawals will be safe. Digital wallets offer that confidence.
The Web3.0 Connection
Digital wallets also sit at the heart of Web3.0. This refers to the new generation of the internet built on decentralisation. These wallets aren’t just for payments. They can act as logins and gateways to apps and services. Instead of creating accounts with usernames and passwords for every website, a single wallet could provide access.
As technology moves forward, digital wallets will likely expand even further. They have the potential to combine multiple services into one. This could mean payments as standard, but also IDs or even loyalty cards. The convenience makes sense. Why carry ten separate apps when one wallet can do it all?

Infinix’s GT 30 series has breathed new life into the budget gaming segment this year. Back in June, we reviewed the Pro model in the series and found it to be an amazing deal at Rs 25,000. Its pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers added a new dimension to the standard gaming experience and gave it a unique edge in a segment that hasn’t seen anything riveting in years. Now, we turn our attention to the vanilla model in the series. The good news is that this variant retains most of the Pro features like shoulder triggers, LED lighting, Bypass charging, and VC cooling. It is priced just under Rs 20,000, which makes it one of the better gaming devices in its price bracket. We used it for a week to find out if it’s the real deal. Here is our in-depth review of the Infinix GT 30.
Before we dive into the design and form factor of the GT 30, let’s take a look at what you get inside its retail box:
Smartphone
45W power adapter
USB Type-A to Type-C cable
Clear plastic cover
SIM ejector
GT Verse invite card
User manual

The GT 30 follows the design language of the Pro model. Infinix calls it the ‘Mecha 2.0’ design. Integrated with this design are 4 customisable lighting strips. These mechanical light waves spring into action when you receive a text or call, launch a game, put your phone on charge, play music, trigger the timer while taking a picture, and summon the AI assistant. You can customise their behaviour from device settings. The rectangular camera island is positioned on the top left section of the back panel. It does not cause any significant wobble. The smartphone comes in 3 colour variants – Pulse Green, Cyber Blue, and Blade White.
The plastic frame holds two pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers on its right edge. Between these two triggers lie the volume rocker and the side button. The SIM tray, primary microphone, USB-C port, and primary speaker grille are positioned on the bottom edge. The secondary speaker, IR blaster, and noise-cancelling microphone are placed up top.
The vanilla variant shares its display with the Pro model. This 6.78-inch AMOLED panel has a 144Hz refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. It can hold its own under direct sunlight, easily reaching the optimum level of brightness to make the content on the screen perfectly legible. The touch response is smooth as butter. The bezels surrounding the screen are thin and uniform – something that is still not the norm in this segment. The optical fingerprint scanner is snappy and accurate.
During the review period, we used the Infinix GT 30 to stream TV and movie titles on OTT apps like Netflix, JioHotstar, and Prime Video. The AMOLED display, with its 1,224 x 2,720p resolution, produced detailed visuals with deep colours. There’s DRM Widevine L1 support for HD content. The audio output is well-balanced but a little faint.
Infinix GT 30 Review: Performance and Cameras
Powering the GT 30 is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor. This is a respectable chipset for a smartphone in the sub-Rs 20,000 price bracket. There are 2 storage (UFS 2.2) variants on offer with fixed 8GB RAM (LPDDR5X):
128GB: Rs 18,499
256GB: Rs 19,999
We ran a couple of benchmark tests on this phone. Here’s how it performed.
The GT 30 runs through routine tasks like a hot knife through butter. The LPDDR5X RAM configuration lets you juggle multiple apps at once without hitting a snag. The UFS 2.2 storage configuration is a couple of notches below the Pro variant (UFS 4.0), but the difference in performance isn’t significant. We were particularly impressed by the smooth and fluid general usage experience. The GT 30 is a tier above its peers in this regard. Even the typing experience felt a level above other phones in this category.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset is able to run titles like Call of Duty and BGMI in medium to high graphics. You can unlock a 90fps frame rate in BGMI. The gameplay is smooth and consistent. We did not come across a single frame drop during our time with the device. The shoulder triggers can be used to fire rounds or carry out preset combinations. They are far from a gimmick. The 3D Vapor Chamber cooling system covers a 5,400mm² area with 6 layers of copper, graphite, and stainless steel.
OS duties on this device are handled by the Android 15-based XOS 15. Infinix’s custom Android skin has taken a big leap this year. Its design elements are inspired by HyperOS and ColorOS/OxygenOS. However, our favourite thing about this skin is how well-optimised it is. The interface feels light, airy, and smooth. Everything from screen transitions to animations for app launching/minimising is very fluid.
The Infinix AI suite offers features like Call Assistant, Translation Assistant, Writing Assistant, AI Note, Recording Summary, AI Eraser and more. You also get Google’s Circle to Search on this device. The AI Eraser in the native Photos app does a decent job of removing unwanted objects from images. The Auto-Answer and Real-Time Translation features for cellular calls work pretty well. AI Note was one of the features that felt like a gimmick. It can convert rough sketches to images, but the final results are quite unimpressive.
LED strips
The 5,500mAh under the hood of this device can last an entire day with ease. During the review period, our daily screen time on the Infinix GT 30 ranged between 4-5 hours. We ended each day with ~25% charge left in the tank. The 45W power adapter provided in the box takes just under an hour to fully charge the phone.
The rear camera panel on this phone houses a 50MP Sony IMX682 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide lens. A 13MP front-facing sensor is nestled inside a punch-hole cutout on the display.
The 50MP primary shooter captures good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. These images pack all the important important and showcase punchy colours. The dynamic range and contrast are good, too. In limited lighting conditions, the ‘Super Night’ mode in the native Camera app does a good job of illuminating the shot and getting rid of most of the grain.
Super Night Mode: Primary v Ultrawide
Images captured from the 8MP ultrawide lens are a touch softer than the one’s shot from the primary shooter. However, their colour palette is quite warm and fun. Needless to say, this sensor rightfully holds its spot in the rear camera array and isn’t just there to fill up the space. In limited lighting conditions, the Super Night mode illuminates the ultrawide shots and ascribes them vibrant colours, but the results are significantly grainier.
Ultrawide LensUltrawide Lens
The portrait shots taken by the GT 30 are vibrant and well-focused. The smartphone does an excellent job of separating the subject from the background and applying a strong blur effect. The 13MP front-facing camera takes clear selfies, but tends to overprocess the shots. The primary shooter and selfie camera can record 4K videos at 30fps. Meanwhile, the ultrawide sensor can shoot 2K footage at 30fps.
The Infinix GT 30 Pro sets the benchmark in performance, hardware, and features in the sub-Rs 20,000 price segment. Its campy design doesn’t hesitate to embrace the gaming aesthetics. The LED lights on the back panel are a nice touch. The AMOLED panel is bright, fluid, and super responsive. The MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor can handle any task you throw at it, including heavy gaming. If you’re a BGMI player, you will enjoy the 90fps frame rate that this phone is able to unlock in the game. What we like about this phone is that it doesn’t put all its eggs in the gaming basket. For casual users, it offers a versatile camera performance and an expansive set of AI features.

Samsung had amazing sales growth during the festive sale, with premium smartphone sales increasing by 40%, which can be attributed to improved consumer sentiments amid the festive season. Additionally, the company reported an incredible 100% increase in premium television sales. Sales of household equipment, notably air conditioners, increased by 30%, owing to reasons such as lower Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, improved warranty benefits, and an emphasis on energy efficiency.
Samsung claimed a strong start to festive sales, citing high customer attitude, enticing promotional offers, and GST rate reductions for televisions and air conditioners. It was reported that premium smartphone sales reached a new high during the Navratri and Dussehra festivities. This spike was largely driven by the Galaxy AI-powered portfolio, which includes the Z Fold 7 folding smartphone, as well as the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series.
Samsung has announced enticing festive promotions for its high-end smartphones, notably the Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24, and Galaxy S24 FE, which coincide with the Navratri sales that began on September 22. During this promotional period, television sales increased significantly, attributable in part to a cut in GST rates on bigger models (those above 32 inches). Samsung reported strong demand for its premium Neo QLED and OLED televisions, which are driven by Vision AI technology.
According to the business, during the Navratri festivities, home appliance sales increased significantly, owing primarily to consumer enthusiasm for enticing offers and discounts. Samsung claimed an increase in its appliances business, owing to promotional initiatives that included cashback incentives, easy financing options, and extended warranties. Furthermore, a reduction in Goods and Services Tax (GST) had a beneficial influence on air conditioner (AC) sales, which, when paired with improved warranty benefits and energy savings, contributed to higher consumer spending. Furthermore, Samsung emphasised its Bespoke AI appliances, which are aimed at improving user experiences by offering four major benefits: Easy, Care, Save, and Secure, to enrich and simplify consumers’ lives via the use of artificial intelligence.

Back in August, Realme took the wraps off its newest P series smartphones. The Pro model in the series has since taken the market by storm, becoming one of the highest-selling phones in its price segment in this year’s festive season sales on Flipkart and Amazon. The P4 series had a 100% YoY rise in sales. We used the Pro model for a week to find out where it ranks amongst its peers in terms of performance and user experience. Here is our in-depth review of the Realme P4 Pro.
Here’s what you get inside the P4 Pro’s retail box:
Smartphone
80W power adapter
USB Type-A to Type-C cable
Protective cover
SIM ejector
Phone hole seal stickers
Quick guide
The P4 Pro comes in 3 colour variants – Midnight Ivy, Birch Wood, and Dark Oak Wood. We used the Birch Wood model for this review. Its back panel has a wooden look and texture. The design language is very similar to the iPhone series. The camera island spans the width of the back panel and houses the triple sensor array on its left side. The flash is positioned in the top right corner. The smooth finish of the camera island offers a nice contrast to the faux wooden texture of the back panel.
The plastic frame houses the volume rocker and the side button on its right edge. The SIM tray, primary microphone, USB-C port, and speaker grille are placed at the bottom. The secondary speaker, IR blaster, and noise-cancelling microphone are placed up top. The left edge has been left buttonless.
The 6.8-inch AMOLED display gently curves along the edges. It has a 144Hz refresh and can reach a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. The touch response on offer here is smooth and fluid. In bright outdoor conditions, the display is able to maintain legibility with ease. The slim, uniform bezels surrounding the screen give it a premium look. The optical fingerprint scanner is snappy and accurate.
When it comes to viewing experience, the P4 Pro is one of the best phones in its segment. The AMOLED display has a 1,280 x 2,800p resolution and supports HDR10+. The O1 Ultra Vision Engine unlocks AI features like Hyper Clarity, Always-On HDR, and Hyper Motion. You can also select the DCI-P3 and sRGB colour gamuts from the display settings for more vibrant visuals. There is an option to create your own colour scheme too. We used the smartphone to stream content across OTT apps like Netflix, Prime Video, and JioHotstar. The viewing experience was top-notch. The images showcased punchy colours and were packed with details. The dual speaker setup produced a loud audio output, but it could’ve used a more pronounced low end.
The dust and water resistance skills of the Pro model have taken a small hit this year. The P3 Pro (our review here) carried an IP68/IP69 rating, making it immersible up to 1.5m for 30 minutes. The P4 Pro has an IP66 rating, which can only safeguard it against light exposure to dust and water. The MIL-STD-810H compliance from the previous model is also missing.
Realme P4 Pro Review: Performance and Cameras
At the heart of the P4 Pro lies the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 SoC. This is one of the most powerful chipsets in this segment. There’s 8GB RAM (LPDDR4X) on the smartphone, and it comes in 2 storage (UFS 3.2) variants:
128GB: Rs 22,999
256GB: Rs 24,999
We ran a couple of benchmark tests on this phone. Here’s how it performed.
When it comes to routine tasks like calling, texting, web browsing, and media streaming, the P4 Pro does not disappoint. It stays on top of things, crushing regular tasks with ease. Apps take minimal time to load, and juggling them presents no issues. Our only complaint lies with the haptic motor, which could use a little more tuning. The vibrational feedback is a little blunt and takes away from an otherwise amazing user experience.
The 144Hz refresh rate for the AMOLED display isn’t there just to pad the spec sheet. The Hyper AI Vision chip on this phone unlocks a 144fps frame rate for over 100 games. This includes titles like Call of Duty Mobile and BGMI. The HD graphics are neat and well-rendered. Pushing the graphics and frame rate to their maximum settings tends to warm up the phone rather quickly. There is a 7000mm² AirFlow VC cooling system in place to manage the thermals, but we recommend sticking to medium to high settings for a consistent performance.
OS duties on the P4 Pro are handled by the Android 15-based Realme UI 6. If you’re familiar with OxygenOS/ColorOS, you will have no trouble adjusting to this skin. We like the customisation options for the lock screen widgets, Always on Display, app icons, fingerprint animation, and edge lighting. The overall interface is vibrant and fun. However, it contains a lot of bloatware apps, which we recommend uninstalling before you start daily driving this device. The ‘Shelf’ panel to the left of the home screen is a nice touch. Apart from being aesthetically pleasing, it showcases essential information like upcoming events, weather, and time at a glance. You can customise this panel by adding multiple widgets.
The P4 Pro is packed with AI features. The AI Edit Genie in the native Photos app accepts voice prompts from the user and makes the necessary edits in the selected image. You can ask it to carry out tasks like removing an object from a photo, bumping the contrast, getting rid of the shadows, and more. It is very similar to the voice command image editing feature on the new Pixel 10 series. The results were hit or miss for us, but we’re excited to see how Realme improves this feature in future iterations of its OS. Other AI features on this phone include Circle to Search, Gemini assistant, and more. We got the most mileage out of the summarisation and translation tools in the Documents app.
Under the hood of this phone lies a massive 7,000mAh Si/C battery pack. You can get up to 2 days of battery life on this device if you don’t push it to its performance limits. During the review period, we racked up 3-4 hours of daily screen time on the Realme P4 Pro. We ended each day with 30-40% charge left in the tank. The 80W adapter provided in the box is able to fully charge the phone in under an hour.
The rear camera panel houses a 50MP Sony IMX896 primary shooter and an 8MP ultrawide lens. A 50MP front-facing camera is placed inside a punch-hole cutout on the display.
The primary shooter takes brilliant pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. The images showcase vibrant colours and pack a lot of details. We were quite happy with the sharpness of these shots. The dynamic range and contrast were on point, too. In limited lighting conditions, the Night Mode took over and effortlessly lit up the shots and resolved the grain.
Night Mode: Primary v Ultrawide
Images taken from the ultrawide sensor are a tad softer than the ones shot with the primary lens. However, what these images lack in detail, they make up for in colour. The colour shift from the primary to the ultrawide lens is not massive. These wide shots are vivid and punchy. Images taken in limited lighting conditions are dimly lit and grainy.
Ultrawide LensUltrawide Lens
The portrait shots taken by the P4 Pro are well-focused and tasteful. The smartphone does a good job of separating the subject from the background and applying a nice background blur. The 50MP front-facing camera takes clear and sharp selfies. We like that it does not overcorrect the skin tone and texture. The primary shooter and selfie camera can record 4K videos at 30/60fps. Meanwhile, the ultrawide camera can only shoot 1,080p videos at 30fps.
The P4 Pro is one of the most ‘complete’ phones we’ve tested in the sub-Rs 25,000 price bracket. It has something in it for every kind of user, be it hardcore gamers or photography enthusiasts. Its brilliant 144Hz AMOLED display is fun to use. The colour profile options for this display further enhance the viewing experience. The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor works in tandem with Realme’s Hyper AI Vision Chip to unlock a 144fps frame rate in over 100 gaming titles. If you’re a more casual user, you’ll be pleased to know that this phone can take vibrant and sharp pictures in a plethora of lighting conditions. The 2-day battery life facilitated by the 7,000mAh Si/C battery pack ties a neat little bow to the amazing package.
