WhatsApp recently rolled out a new feature that allows users to read the voice messages on the platform. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you can’t play a voice note out loud, you can quickly transcribe it and read the text. The process is very intuitive and does not take more than a few seconds. However, you need to enable it from the app settings. So, let’s take a look at how you can enable and view voice note transcription on WhatsApp.

Voice note transcriptions on WhatsApp

WhatsApp can currently transcribe voice notes in 4 languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. Meta will likely add support for Indian languages in the coming months. If a voice note contains some words in a different language, WhatsApp may struggle with transcribing it.

While most services are making the shift to AI for transcription purposes, WhatsApp’s resolve to maintain end-to-end encryption on the platform means that the computation for this task takes place solely on the device. Meta has not formally confirmed this yet, but WhatsApp requires the user to download a language pack before they can begin using transcriptions for voice notes. This means that the user data is not exported to a third-party server for transcription.

The Oppo Find X8 series has officially made its debut in the Indian market today. The new lineup includes Oppo Find X8 and Oppo Find X8 Pro. Both phones are the first smartphones to arrive equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 9400 SoC in the country. Moreover, the phones run on ColorOS 15 with Android 15 out of the box. The handsets include Hasselblad-tuned cameras with a 50-megapixel primary sensor.

The price of the Oppo Find X8 in India starts at Rs 69,999 for the 12GB RAM with 256GB storage option. The 16GB RAM with 512GB storage variant will come with a price tag of Rs 79,999. The device will be available in two colour options Black and Grey.

On the other hand, the Oppo Find X8 Pro will set you at Rs 99,999 and will come in White and Black colour options.

The Redmi Note 14 series India launch has been set for December 9. The company took to X.com to make the announcement. Redmi markets its phone as “Super Camera Super AI” and asserts that it offers cutting-edge AI capabilities and groundbreaking photographic advancements.

The Note 14 series includes three phones Redmi Note 14, Redmi Note 14 Pro and Redmi Note 14 Pro+. In September, the Redmi Note 14 series made its debut in China.

The Redmi Note 14 India release date has been announced, and the expected specifications and pricing for the phone are as follows:

The Redmi Note 14 range has 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED panels. HyperOS, based on Android 14, is installed inside. The Redmi Note 14 Pro has a 4nm Dimensity 7300 CPU, the Note 14 Ultra has a 6nm Dimensity 7025 Ultra processor, and the Pro+ variant has a 4nm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor.

While all three cameras have 50-megapixel sensors, the Pro+ differs from the other two in that it contains an ultrawide shooter and a telephoto zoom sensor. The vanilla version does not include an ultrawide shooter, and the lenses are enclosed within a square shaped camera module.

Additionally, the Plus model boasts a larger 6,200mAh battery that supports 90W charging. Only the 45W charging speed is available for the Pro and standard Note 14 sports, and both models have smaller batteries.

The update also brings other features like subscription plans, home screen shortcuts, sending gifts, sharing media, creating documents, access to geolocation, a motion tracker, setting emoji statues,— and more.

As per the latest Telegram update mini apps are now allowed to occupy the whole screen in either portrait or landscape orientation. They may support various game genres with more extensive movements and user interfaces.

Additionally, Mini Apps on Telegram can use information about your device’s motion to offer unique controls to games or create immersive VR experiences. Developers can lock the screen orientation to prevent needless rotation if their app leverages device motion for controls.

Telegram users are also now allowed to create direct shortcuts to certain mini apps on their device’s home screen, allowing them to access their favourite games and services with a single press.

The default setting disables location data access, requiring users to grant specific permissions for each mini-app they wish to share this data with.

On Telegram Apps may now utilise their stars to offer you gifts as a way to honour accomplishments. A privacy setting has also been added that lets you control who can send you gifts that will appear on your profile.

Telegram Premium users can now set emoji statuses from mini apps, allowing others to see their current status in a game or taxi. Mini apps can incorporate APIs from other services, allowing users to easily change their emoji status while listening to music, reading a book, or watching a movie. These applications can also provide status updates when at work or away from the office. Developers may also develop bespoke emoji packs for status settings, which increases the virality of mini-apps.

You may now share media straight from mini-applications, including referral codes, custom memes, and more, in any conversation. Mini apps can also generate media for you to share on your stories.

Android’s Developer Previews typically surface around January-February, but with Google looking to drop the official version of Android 16 in the second quarter of 2025, it makes sense that the developer is giving a glimpse of the upcoming OS to tech enthusiasts. Should you download the Android 16 Developer Preview on your Pixel smartphone?

Unless you really want to be ahead of the curve, we wouldn’t recommend installing the Android 16 Developer Preview on your Pixel smartphone. As the name suggests, these previews are meant for app developers who want to test their apps on the new OS. It gives them an idea of the upcoming OS. If you’re thinking of making the switch solely to discover new features, the experience may turn out to be underwhelming since most new features may be locked right now. Not to mention, the developer OS versions are often glitchy and unstable.

Another reason why we don’t recommend downloading the Developer Preview is because it requires unlocking your phone’s bootloader. For those unaware, this process factory resets your device, which means you will lose all your personal data and custom settings. Of course, if you have another Pixel smartphone gathering dust, you can use it to run the OS.

Note: Android 16 (and its Developer Preview) is only available for Google Pixel 6 Series and up.

Install Android 16 Developer Preview on Google Pixel using Android Flash Tool

Step 1: Launch Google Chrome on your PC and go to the Android Flash Tool page.

Step 2: Install the Android USB Driver on your PC.

Step 3: Connect your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable.

Step 4: On your smartphone, go to Settings and enable Developer Mode by tapping the Build Number 7 times.

Step 5: Go to Developer Options and turn on OEM unlocking and USB debugging.

Step 6: On your PC, go to the Android Flash Tool page and select the Android 16 version you want to install on your device (32-bit or 64-bit).

Step 7: Follow the flash tool instructions to install Android 16 Developer Preview on your Google Pixel.

There are two ways you can go about installing the Android 16 Developer Preview manually on your Pixel smartphone.

Flash a Factory Image using Fastboot: This method requires unlocking your phone’s bootloader. This results in a factory reset and you will lose your personal data and settings.

Sideloading the OTA file through ADB: This method does not require unlocking your phone’s bootloader. As a result, you will not lose the personal data on your device. However, this method is only recommended if your phone failed to install the Developer Preview previously.

Method A: Flash a Factory Image using Fastboot

Step 1: Download and install ADB on your PC.

Step 2: Install the Android USB Driver on your PC.

Step 3: Unlock Developer Options on your Pixel smartphone and enable USB debugging.

Step 4: Connect your smartphone to your PC using a USB cable.

Step 5: Download the Android 16 Developer Preview Factory Image File for your Pixel smartphone on your PC. Verify its SHA-256 checksum.

Step 6: Unzip the Factory Image File and export its contents to ADB and Fastboot’s location.

Step 7: Open Command Prompt on your PC and run the following command to reboot your phone to Fastboot mode:

adb reboot bootloader

Step 8: Unlock your phone’s bootloader by running the following command:

fastboot flashing unlock

Note: This will factory reset your smartphone and you will lose your personal data and settings.

Step 9: Double-click the flash-all.bat file on your PC.

Step 10: Your smartphone will load Android 16 Developer Preview once the batch installation has finished.

Step 11: Lock your smartphone’s bootloader by rebooting your phone in Fastboot mode again and entering the following command:

fastboot flashing lock

Method B: Sideload the OTA file through ADB

Step 1: Follow steps 1 to 4 mentioned in Method A.

Step 2: Download the Android 16 OTA file on your PC. Verify its SHA-256 checksum.

Step 3: Rename the file to something shorter and simpler. This makes it easy to type its name in CMD commands. In this method, we’ll use the name otabcd.zip to refer to the file.

Step 4: Relocate the file to the ADB directory on your PC.

Step 5: Open Command Prompt on your PC and run the following command to reboot your phone in recovery mode:

adb reboot recovery

Step 6: Use the volume keys on your phone to navigate to Apply Update from ADB. Select it by using the power/side button.

Step 7: Run the following command on your PC:

sideload otabcd.zip

Step 8: Once the sideloading process is complete, hit Reboot system now on your phone to finish the installation process.

Oppo has officially announced that it has scheduled to launch its upcoming Find X8 Series in India and globally on November 21. The devices in the series are the first in India to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 CPU. It is anticipated that the Find X8 Pro and Find X8 would include Hasselblad-tuned optics with AI-powered Telescope Zoom for a zoom of more than 10x.

On November 21, the Oppo Find X8 Series will launch in India, and ColorOS 15 will make its global premiere. At 10:30 AM IST, the launch event will take place in Bali, Indonesia. Oppo Find X8 Series Specifications and Features (Expected)

The Oppo Find X8 is confirmed to be a thin, light smartphone that weighs 193g and has a 7.85mm periscope zoom camera. The device is said to be available in Star Grey and Space Black colour options. The handset will also feature a 6.59-inch screen with a 1.45mm symmetrical bezel with a fingerprint-resistant diffuse coating.

Whereas the Oppo Find X8 Pro will be made available in two distinct pearlescent patterns: Space Black and Pearl White. The phone will come with a bigger 6.78-inch display with quad-curved glass on both sides, along with introducing OPPO’s dual-periscope telephoto camera for international markets.

The Find X8 Pro and Find X8 will include Oppo’s Hasselblad Master Camera System with AI Telescope Zoom, which can zoom up to 10x and more, and Lightning Snap, which can take up to seven pictures per second without sacrificing flagship-level photo processing.
The Oppo Find X8 series will be the first smartphones in India to employ the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, which includes an Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 3nm octa-core processor. The same processor is used in Chinese variants.

Along with Oppo’s AI LinkBoost feature and AI-backed functionality, the Indian Oppo Find X8 series will offer MediaTek Xtra Range 3.0 technology, which will increase Wi-Fi coverage by up to 30 meters. The smartphones will come pre-installed with ColorOS 15, which is based on Android 15.
