How To Scan QR Codes With Google (2022)?

Since the dawn of QR codes in our lives, nothing has been the same as before. From grocery stores to cafes and restaurants, escaping QR codes is not possible. But one thing to admit is that they have definitely made our lives easier. Payments can be made to anyone in just a couple of clicks while menus at eating joints can be viewed right from our smartphones. The economy is becoming cashless with each passing day and the need for paper is also getting reduced in the process. But in case you are still not used to dealing with QR codes, we’ve got your back. So that you can swiftly make an order or a payment at your own discretion, here is how to scan QR codes with Google in 2022.

Scan QR Codes Using Google Lens 

Step 1: If you haven’t already, then first download the Google Lens mobile application from Google Play Store.

Step 2: Open the Google Lens app on your device. 

Step 3: Click on the ‘Search with your camera’ area at the top of the interface. The app also provides you with the option to scan any existing image or a screenshot on your device.

Step 4: Point your camera at the QR code and click on the search button. That’s it!

Post the scan, the app displays a link or a banner, clicking which will take you to the respective website, app, or payments page to which the QR code is related.

Use Google Or Chrome Browser App

If you have only a one-time need of scanning a QR code and you don’t want to download another app on your device, you can make use of the Google or the Chrome browser app. Google provides the facility of image search directly from its mobile browsers, by integrating them with Google Lens. And the process is extremely simple. All you have to do is just head on to either of the two browsers and click on the small lens icon beside on right side of the search box. This will open the Google Lens interface for you, from where the steps to scan a QR code are exactly as mentioned above. 

This would eliminate the need of downloading the Google Lens app on your device and save you some storage space. But in order for this method to work, you would have to make sure that you are using the latest version of these browsers.

In this way, you can easily scan QR codes with Google in 2022. Apart from Google Lens and Google mobile browsers, there are multiple other third-party Android applications available on the Play Store that you can use for scanning QR codes. Just like Google Lens, these use your smartphone’s camera app to help you with reverse image searching.
