Smart glasses are moving from a niche technology to a mainstream consumer product. Samsung introduced its new Intelligent Eyewear Galaxy Glasses at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London, which has been developed in collaboration with Google and fashion designers Warby Parker and Gentle Monster. Instead of embedding bulky designs with high-tech components, Samsung has let experienced eyewear designers focus on aesthetics while baking in cutting-edge AI capabilities. The smart glasses are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 platform and feature close integration with Google Gemini, offering lightweight, display-free frames for hands-free contextual AI, real-time voice translation and visual awareness right in the user’s field of view.

Samsung presented two different designs at the Unpacked event. The Gentle Monster Edition has a chic silhouette with a sleek black frame, straight upper rim and gently rounded lower edges. On the other hand, the Warby Parker Edition has a brown upswept brow line for daily wearability.

The collaboration prioritised creating comfort and fine-tuning the fit, particularly around the forehead and ears.
