WickedLeak launched its first Windows tablet Wammy Hero for Rs 8,990
The Indian smartphone manufacturer WickedLeak has launched its first Windows 8 tablet called Wammy Hero in the India market. The company has priced the device for Rs 8,990 and it is available on its official website.
Talking about the specifications, the WickedLeak Wammy Hero features an 8-inch display with 800×1280 pixels resolution and 178 degree wide viewing angles. The tablet runs on Windows 8.1 operating system and is powered by a 1.33GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F processor.
The device offers 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be further expanded to 32GB via microSD card. The tablet comes equipped with a 2.0-megapixel autofocus rear camera and also a 2.0-megapixel front facing camera for video calling. The connectivity options of the tablet include 3G (via SIM card slot), WiFi, Bluetooth, microUSB and packs in a huge 4,000 mAh battery.
The company will also be offering optional Aquaprotect Water Resistant Technology at Rs 1,500, which will help in sustaining the tablet under water for more than 30 minutes.

Gionee Elife E8 with octa-core SoC, 3GB RAM and 23.7MP camera launched
The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee has expanded its E series of smartphone with the launch of Elife E8. The device flaunts a 6-inch display with 2560×1440 pixels resolution protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system topped with the Amigo UI of the company.
Powering the Elife E8 is a 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X 10 (MT6795) processor coupled with 3GB of RAM. The internal storage of the device accounts to 64GB which can be further expanded to 128GB. The smartphone comes equipped with a 23.7-megapixel rear camera with Dual tone LED flash and an 8.0-megapixel front-facing camera with wide-angle lens to facilitate video calling.
On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G, LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and houses a 3,520 mAh battery. The Gionee Elife E8 also consists of a fingerprint sensor on the back for secure locking. The company has priced the device for $644 (Approx. Rs 41,118) and will be available in China from 15th July. Wammy Note 4: A phone with 3GB RAM announced in India
Their earlier phones might not have done exceptionally in the market, but that couldn’t stop Wickedleak from launching an upgrade to its Wammy Note series; does the name ring a bell? The Indian smartphone manufacturer has announced Wammy Note 4, the successor to the Wammy Note 3.
The new device would be carrying 3GB RAM along with 4G LTE support. It is slated to launch on 15th June and the company has already being teasing the device on its official social media channels. The release of the Wammy Note 4 comes on the heels of the company’s last device, Wammy Titan 4, a handset rocking a 5 inch Full HD display, and a huge 5330mAh battery. Despite having powerful specs the battery is able to juice up the device for up to 4 days.
Wammy Note 4 will adopt an aggressive pricing strategy, just like its predecessors. The phone is likely to have the latest 64 bit processor and Wickedleak has revealed in the teasers that it will support TD-LTE

Facebook Messenger app crosses 1billion downloads on Android
The social networking giant Facebook has revealed that its Messenger app for Android has crossed 1 billion downloads. The VP, product Messaging David Marcus has shared a screen shot of the same on Facebook.
The number of downloads registered in the Google Play store have crossed the 1 billion mark. It took a complete year for the app to cross this milestone, last year during the same time it had 500 million downloads. The Facebook Messenger is the third app of the company to achieve 1 billion downloads.
Of late Facebook is also focusing a lot on its Messenger app. The social networking giant has introduced new features like video calling, location sharing via messages and information about the first time message senders. These updates are introduced in order to enhance the user experience.
