Vivo X200 Pro has arrived in India with a major upgrade over the last edition. Vivo’s Zeiss imaging collaboration has earned the smartphone series a reputation for producing professional-quality camera results. We’ve been using this stunning phone for nearly a month and have tried it extensively, including photography, videography, and other features. And let us tell you, we were amazed at how perfect the photographs appeared right out of the box. Aside from that, the X200 Pro is a flagship product, and Vivo has made significant advancements in all areas that deserve the spotlight. Hold on tight because we will be discussing everything in detail. Here is our review of the Vivo X200 Pro.

Vivo X200 Pro Review: Design and Display
Let’s start with the design. But first, let’s look at what’s inside the retail container. The all-black retail packaging exudes class with its minimalist appearance. The square box bears the X200 logo. The phone itself is included, along with a SIM ejector pin, some documentation that is rarely read, a transparent case, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and the much-needed 90W charging brick, which very few brands care to offer these days.Presenting the brand-new Vivo X200 Pro in Titanium Grey, which we truly adored. At first glance, it exudes premiumness. All glass makes up the rear, which is smooth to the touch and resistant to smudges or fingerprints. The side frame has a brushed metal appearance and is made of aluminium. The antenna is visible from practically every angle. On the right side of the frame are the power button and the volume rockers. It has a top-firing speaker as well. It features a microphone, a USB-C connector, a secondary down-firing speaker, and a SIM tray that can hold two nano SIM cards in the bottom. Unfortunately, SD cards are not supported. Also Read: iQOO 13 Review: A beast unleashedWe loved how the product felt in our hands; it was both luxurious and comfortable, and the firm had done a fantastic job with the design. Because of its large battery and all-glass and metal design, the phone weighs roughly 228 grams, and you can feel its weight when you hold it. The strategically placed buttons on the side made it comfortable to use with one hand, even if we have small hands. It offers a better grip because it is slightly curved but not quite different from its predecessor. The iconic large round camera layout on the back panel appears larger than on the predecessor. In any case, it adds heft to the overall design aesthetics, looks amazing, and captures everyone’s attention. It appears classy rather than tacky. The lens’s outer ring is adorned with a fluted bezel design, while the main circular ring features four cutouts with the Zeiss logo at the centre. However, the area surrounding the camera module appears dirty due to dust accumulation. The camera bump causes the top portion of the phone to slope when it is set on a level surface. Its steadiness and lack of wobbling, however, are appreciated.Given that we are discussing the build quality and design, the Vivo X200 Pro is rated for both IP68 and IP69 ingress protection. Although it is technically protected against water and dust, we don’t advise you to take any chances. In terms of design and construction, we believe Vivo has done a fantastic job. The moment you lay eyes on the phone, it will catch your attention. The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED screen of the Vivo X200 Pro has a resolution of 1,260 x 2,800 pixels. The 2K OLED panel has a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits. It also features Armour Glass protection and a 452 PPI pixel density. The side bezels are hardly noticeable. The selfie camera is located inside a punch-hole cutout on top.In terms of usage, a bigger screen is better for multitasking and binge-watching. With a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the display is smooth and fluid. Although the display’s refresh rate can be adjusted in three different ways, Smart Switch is the default setting. Additionally, you have the option to change between standard and high mode based on your usage. While the high refresh rate delivers up to 120 Hz, it increases the system’s energy usage in comparison to the standard and smart switch modes. The standard refresh rate is set at 60 Hz.The display responds quickly to touch inputs and reproduces colours quite accurately. It has a gorgeous contrast and white balance. We enjoyed watching videos on over-the-top services (OTT) like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. You can also adjust the colour temperature of the screen from the settings. It is set to Standard by default, but you can also choose from professional, bright, and adaptive colour modes. The speakers are quite strong and the sound quality is good. It allows you to watch videos and listen to the audio playlists of your choice. Even when the volume is high, it won’t let you down. Beautiful, rich sounds without distortion. The gadget has an in-display fingerprint sensor for ease, and it works very well.
Vivo X200 Pro Review: Performance and Cameras
Regarding the Vivo X200 Pro’s performance, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor and comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The gadget is now available with 512GB of storage and 16GB of RAM. All of our everyday tasks can be handled by the smartphone with ease, and we haven’t noticed any latency or stutters yet. It has performed remarkably well in terms of gaming and has been an amazing user experience overall. We engaged in a wide range of games, from basic to complex. We encountered some heating close to the camera module, but we were still able to play Call of Duty: Mobile, BGMI, and Asphalt 9 at their highest settings with steady gameplay. Other than that, none of these games had any lags or frame dips.Geekbench scores of Vivo X200 Pro:Out of the box, the phone comes pre-installed with Funtouch OS 15 based on Android 15. Vivo deserves praise for continuously improving its operating system. Everything is as smooth as butter. It is quite highly optimised, and while there are bloatware apps, you can easily get rid of those that you don’t need. Our lives are now impacted by AI, and nearly every new and future smartphone has AI capabilities. The most recent version of the Funtouch OS now has some of the features. We tested this device’s most popular AI eraser feature, and it performs well. Sometimes, though, it is hit or miss. However, it functions well most of the time. Also Read:Oppo Find X8 Pro Review: The new photography champ! In addition, AI Photo Enhance and Shadow Removal is a tool for improving images. It also comes with Google Gemini, an AI assistant that you can communicate with to aid you with tasks like event planning and email writing. Other productivity AI capabilities incorporated on the X200 Pro include AI Note Assist and AI Transcript Assist.Yes, you may search for things on your iPhone that you truly enjoy while travelling or watching a movie using the beloved Circle to Search feature. You don’t have to constantly switch between apps, which makes it a fantastic feature.Since we are aware that the majority of you are here to experience the camera, let’s get started.Compared to the vanilla V3 chip included in the X100 series, the new Vivo X200 series features the V3+ imaging chip for improved image processing. The device has a Zeiss T* coating. The X200 Pro has a triple rear camera system that includes a new 200MP Samsung HP9 Zeiss APO sensor with 3.7x optical zoom, a 50MP Sony LYT-818 primary lens, and a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide lens. Its predecessor, however, had a 64MP telephoto lens, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP IMX920 primary lens. The telephoto lens has features including Telephoto Portrait with no shutter lag, Telephoto Nightscapes with maximum clarity, Telephoto Macro with a 20x magnification and a variety of bokeh effects, and Telephoto HyperZoom with up to 100x.The X200 Pro offers 135mm and 85mm focal lengths for portraiture, allowing users to take incredibly clear close-ups.Technically and specifically, this is a highly powerful phone; let’s see how it performs. On this phone, Vivo offers three colour modes: Zeiss Natural, Vivid, and Textured. Vivid is now the default setting for this phone. We are quite delighted with the colour output, which outperforms the other two options. That is why the majority of samples were taken in Vivid. The primary lens produces outstanding results; the colours are quite natural, precisely as we desired, and ready to be shared on social media. We noticed that the hues in Vivid mode were too intense at times, however when photographing human subjects or standard portraits, these rich colours work well. We think 1x images have excellent dynamic range. We appreciated how little contrast was added to the shadows, yet the photographs still included a lot of information; the same applies to the highlights. As a result, we would just need to make minor edits before sharing on Instagram. The backlight processing is incredible. We particularly enjoyed the highlight control because, in many cases, when there is too much sunlight on the bright sections, they do not get overexposed. Overall, we were impressed with the results. It appears to be one of the greatest camera phones we have used so far.We fail to achieve the greatest results in low light since warm tones appear in many images taken under artificial lighting. Aside from that, we’d like to address the flare issue, which has yet to be rectified but appears to be improving. In a dark setting, there is some slight noise. We’d prefer to start with the ultra-wide camera before moving on to the telephoto. We believe the Vivo X200’s weakest point is its ultra-wide-angle camera. The first thing we noticed was that the edges were quite soft; we weren’t expecting much from this phone because we assumed the ultra-wide-angle camera would be amazing as well. However, edges provide softness in numerous spots, which somehow harms the images, especially if you are taking landscape photos outside; you will not get good edges. The telephoto camera on this phone is what everyone is talking about. First, we saw a colour shift, indicating that 1x had some vibrancy. However, the colour output from 3.7x is significantly better because the hues are not as bright, and you get a little range for tweaking the images. We’ve also experienced the halo effect a few times, particularly when there is a bright backlight.Other than this, there are no problems. We can say with confidence that this is the best telephoto camera we have personally used so far because, first, you can get the effect of portrait mode without even changing the mode, even at 3.7x (85mm). Second, the edges are very well-refined because you are relying on the hardware here rather than the software. Third, the detail sharpness is very amazing; for example, you can compare it with the detail of the 1x camera; photos are so sharp.Personally, we didn’t see any significant negatives. Once again, the dynamic range is outstanding; the highlight control is good, and the shadows provide useful information as well. Even in low light, the pictures are turning out rather nicely overall. The noise control was excellent for zooming in and taking pictures in such low light when we took them at 3.7x (85mm). Seldom can a camera provide such fine detail; very few phones can match it.Additionally, this phone has a 10x zoom option; the results are so amazing that it can easily outperform a Samsung phone because of its superior processing, clarity, background blur, and subject details. We shall then discuss macro mode. Macro photos can also be taken using the telephoto camera. 3.7x by default, this mode allows you to snap macro pictures and zoom in up to 7x. After that, you may also use the 10x option, which is only available in photo mode. You have three options if you go into macro mode: 3.4x, 7.4x, and 10x. 7.4x is our personal choice since it produces such excellent results that no external macro lens is necessary. Again, well done, Vivo. The Vivo X200’s portrait mode is another of its best features. There are five different lens selections available in this mode: 23mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm. You get vivid hues at 1x, and there are some mutations at 3.7x. As of right now, no other phone has the best edge detection. The output of the images is comparable to that of a DSLR. It is that close, though. The colours of the face are likewise rather natural, although there is a slight softness that many people like.In addition, Vivo provides a bokeh filter, a portrait lens kit, and a host of other things that not only improve photos but also give them a polished appearance.Alright, the landscape mode is the most crucial option at this point. In other words, the manufacturer has assembled two or three things in landscape mode. One is that the processing is a little different if you shoot landscape photographs; long exposure and low light modes have been added. All of those options are available here, but let’s talk about low light in particular. The main difference between landscape mode and normal mode is that the former has a deeper blue sky. In our opinion, the images in standard mode were superior. Finally, we shall discuss selfies. Selfies, in our opinion, should have been much better because the colour tones are so inconsistent, particularly when it comes to warm tones. As a result, the selfies did not appear suitable for the price tag. The edge detection is also not up to the mark considering the price. You may record 8K videos at 30 frames per second (1x and 3x). In general, many phones do not process 8K output very well, but the X200 Pro has completely blown us away. In addition to capturing an enormous amount of detail, the larger sensor produces a stunning natural light blur. In 8K resolution, we didn’t encounter any problems with the edge.We did not anticipate such output at 1x in terms of stability. The videos appear a bit shaky. Other than that, there aren’t many problems with this; the video quality is good. Additionally, there is a super steady mode in which the resolution reaches its maximum at FHD.When using the front camera to record videos, the stabilisation works nicely. Thus, it might be regarded as a suitable choice for vloggers. Then there is a cinematic video mode, which is similar to portrait mode in that the background is blurred but the subject is clear. You can use this mode for casual purposes. All things considered, the X200 Pro is an incredibly reliable camera phone that will outperform the majority of high-end flagship models. Now for the battery life. A massive 6,000mAh battery powers the Vivo X200 Pro. It is said to be a semi-solid state battery that can withstand extreme temperatures. With extensive use, including many hours of photography and video recording, this enormous battery lasted us two days. The included 90W charger is the icing on the cake. It will therefore quickly power up in less than 40 minutes as needed.
Verdict
The Vivo X200 Pro’s performance and display are excellent.Any smartphone camera will barely capture the intricacies and crispness at 10x which X200 Pro does. The details jump out, and the macros look fantastic. Aside from that, you may now capture the subject from a distance; you don’t even need to come that close.Additionally, the camera UI is much cleaner; we liked that many options and modes have been incorporated into the landscape mode. Also Read:Google Pixel 9 Review: Does the company walk the talk? When it comes to gaming, everything runs so easily because there is so much power offered, however, the gadget did get hot while playing for some time. Once again, the temperature was not uncomfortable, and there was no drop in the performance. It is a monster in the battery category as well. The build is also really high-end.Therefore, if you’re searching for a phone with a strong camera and a good gaming experience, the Vivo X200 Pro won’t disappoint.

Fast-charging smartphones are all the rage these days. Flagship offerings from Xiaomi, OnePlus, and Oppo offer a baseline charging speed of 100W. Some smartphones have broken this barrier to offer 120W and 150W fast-charging support. While these are ridiculously high speeds, these smartphones don’t always charge at a uniform pace. To manage the internal temperature and preserve battery health, modern smartphones lower the charging speed as they approach the end of the charge cycle. If you’re curious about the pace at which your device is charging, here’s how you can view or measure the charging speed of your phone.Read Also: Vivo T3 Pro and Vivo T3 Ultra price dropped by Rs 2,000

Do fast chargers always work?
One of the common beliefs associated with charging is that higher-rated power adapters can charge a phone at a faster pace. However, this isn’t entirely true. The charging speed supported by your smartphone is the limiting factor in this scenario. If your phone supports 30W charging, then using a 100W power adapter won’t make it charge any faster. If your phone does not come with a charger in the box, it is important to find out its supported charging speed before buying a charger. The quality of the charging cable also plays an important role in fast charging. Older, shoddy cables can lose a lot of current before it reaches the device. Cheaper cables may not be able to carry the current required to charge the device at a faster pace. For optimal performance, stick with the charging cable that was provided with your smartphone. Additionally, always use authentic accessories for all things charging-related.
Use the AmpereFlow app
Step 1:Install the AmpereFlow app from the Google Play Store.
Step 2: Launch the app and hit Start.
Step 3: Give AmpereFlow permission to display over other apps.
Step 4: Plug in the charger and lock your phone. The charging speed will be displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Use the Charge Meter app
Step 1:Download and install the Charge Meter app from the Google Play Store.Step 2:Launch the app and connect your phone to its charger.Step 3:Multiply the current displayed in mA at the top of the screen by the voltage to get the charging speed in milliwatts (mW). The voltage will be mentioned on the same screen.Step 5:Divide the milliwatt figure by 1,000 to convert it to watt (W).
Use the AccuBattery app
Step 1:Download the AccuBattery app on your phone from the Google Play Store.
Step 2:Launch the app and switch to the Charging tab.
Step 3: Scroll down to the Charge status box.
Step 4: The charging speed will be mentioned next to Charge current.
View your phone’s charging speed using a USB power meter
If you want to view the accurate charging speed in real time, get a USB Type-C power tester for your smartphone. This nifty meter connects to the charging port on your phone. It has a USB Type-C port at the back for the charging cable. When you plug the charging cable into the meter, it gives you the real-time charging speed in watts. A good USB power meter will cost anywhere between Rs 500 and Rs 1,500. If you do not wish to use a separate tool for this task, get a USB cable with an integrated charging speed display.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
How to calculate a phone’s charging speed?
To calculate a phone’s charging speed, you need to multiply the current flowing into it by the voltage. You can use apps like Ampere and Charge Meter to get the voltage and current readings. Once you have multiplied the two figures, you will get the charging speed in milliwatts. Divide this number by 1,000 to get the speed in watts.
How do I know which phone charger is faster?
Observe the charger’s maximum speed in watts to find out if it is fast. Make sure your phone supports the charging speed of the charger to utilise the maximum speed.
Is there an app to find out the charging speed of my device?
You can use apps like Ampere and Charge Meter to measure the charging speed. These apps display the current flow, which can be multiplied by the voltage (also displayed within the app) to calculate the charging speed.
Is a 25W charger faster than a 45W charger?
On paper, a 25W charger is faster than a 45W charger. However, if your phone does not support 45W charging, the 45W charger won’t be able to charge at the maximum speed.
How can I check if my phone is fast charging?
Go to Settings>Battery and turn on fast charging. To check if your phone is fast charging, look for the ‘fast charging’ or ‘ultra-fast charging’ indicator on the lock screen.Read Also:How to password-protect a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet?
Final Thoughts
A fast charger can help you boost the charging speed, but it can only replenish the battery at the speed supported by the device. If you want to preserve your phone’s battery health, it is recommended that you set a charging limit. If you have any questions, let us know in the comments!
