Apple could maintain its aggressive pricing strategy for the iPhone 18 Pro models

The next iPhone series is likely to arrive in September.

In September, Apple is expected to launch its latest models, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, and perhaps a new gadget referred to as the iPhone Ultra. Analyst Jeff Pu expects Apple will price the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max competitively. The move is in response to the growing prices of memory, which has forced some Android devices to raise prices, in stark contrast to Apple’s pricing strategy vs its rivals.

The iPhone 18 series is coming out this fall, and it will consist of the Pro, the Pro Max, and a whole new Ultra variant. The iPhone 18 Pro might break with existing pricing patterns thanks to memory price hikes and supply chain challenges. Analyst Jeff Pu has stated that Apple may continue to aggressively price the base models, with the iPhone 18 Pro beginning at $1,099 and the Pro Max at $1,199, the same prices as last year.

However, prices might be increased on higher storage capacities to relieve margin pressure while maintaining the entry-level units competitively priced. That might help Apple steal more market share from Android smartphones, particularly since Android makers have already started to hike up their pricing. Overall, the Android market is expected to shrink this year, giving Apple a possible edge as it launches new products meticulously.

Anticipated Design and Features

Dummy units of the iPhone 18 Pro Max have emerged online in the past, revealing several details about its design and features. The general design appears to be inspired by the iPhone 17 Pro Max but now has a somewhat bigger rectangular camera plateau. The back camera module is expected to be considerably more pronounced than it is on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The gadget will likely retain the triple back camera configuration but may come with bigger camera lenses for better usefulness. Furthermore, the camera island may include other components such as a LiDAR sensor, an LED flash, and a secondary microphone to improve its functionality for photos and video recording.

And there’s a circular hole on the back panel for the MagSafe components, in keeping with the design language that started with the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Ergonomically, the power and camera control buttons are on the right side of the device, with the volume controls and a new action button on the left. Interestingly, the arrangement of these buttons is the same, so customers switching from prior models would find it familiar.

The bottom of the gadget also has a USB Type-C connector and a speaker grille, further demonstrating the utilitarian design decisions Apple has taken with this new model.
