Spotify has announced a new feature allowing users to listen to long-form magazine articles in 22 regions where Spotify Audiobooks are accessible. If you’re a Premium member, you may listen to these articles at no additional charge, as long as you’re within your audiobook listening allowance. If you are not a subscriber, you can purchase articles individually. The library now has 650 articles from prestigious journals, all under two hours. At this point, all articles are accessible in English.
Now Spotify is offering “narrated Articles” which will provide users with over 650 long-form magazine articles in English. This will be accessible in areas typically offering audiobooks. The articles are created by Spotify’s team of Audiobooks and include a carefully chosen selection of literary works from leading journals like Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, Vogue, Variety, Billboard, Vibe, GQ, WIRED, Vanity Fair and Pitchfork. The move marks a huge extension of Spotify’s content offerings, targeting listeners who want long-form storytelling in audio format.

If you do not have a premium membership, individual articles may be purchased at a charge of $1.99. This price model caters to casual listeners as well as a trial mechanism where users may test shorter content before diving into full-length audiobooks. It eases the transition for those who want to expand their listening habits.
