For tech enthusiasts across the world, Google I/O is an unmissable event. This is the event where Google showcases its upcoming products for the summer and even the rest of the year (if we’re lucky!). Last year, we saw the Google Pixel 6a make an appearance at the I/O conference, along with the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds. Apart from product releases, Google also uses this event to make important announcements about new software tech. This year’s Google I/O is scheduled to take place on May 10. Now that we are a week away from the event, here are the top 5 announcements and releases that can be expected at Google I/O 2023.

Google Pixel 7a
Google Pixel 7a has been confirmed by Google to launch in India on May 11, which means it will be unveiled at I/O this year. Much like the Pixel 6a, the Google Pixel 7a will carry forward the design language and the processor of the flagship 7 Series. This year’s Pixel A series may get a higher refresh rate and wireless charging. The rear camera setup of Google Pixel 7a will feature a 64MP primary lens and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. Expect the Pixel 7a to be priced around $500 (~Rs 40,000).
Google Pixel Watch 2
Last year’s I/O saw Google’s first-ever smartwatch make its debut. This year, we could see Google releasing its 2nd Gen Pixel Watch at the event. While there haven’t been any rumours regarding the Pixel Watch 2 so far, it makes sense for Google to showcase the smartwatch at the event and launch it later in the year along with the flagship Pixel lineup.
Google Pixel Tablet
The Pixel Tablet was announced at last year’s I/O event. Since then we haven’t heard much about the device from Google. The Internet, however, has been abuzz with rumours and an I/O 2023 release looks very likely for Google’s debut tablet. The Pixel Tablet will come with an attached dock which will allow the device to work as a smart display when it is in standby mode. While not much is known about the price tag, several reports suggest that the Pixel Tablet will be available to preorder from May 10.
Google Pixel 8 Series
Last year, Google teased us with the Pixel 7 series. It is expected that we will get a glimpse of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro this year. The smartphones, of course, will be launched later in 2023, but the company may fully reveal the device on May 10. Some renders of Pixel 8 have been floating around the Internet but it is hard to speak to the validity of those images.
Google Pixel Fold
Saving the best for the last, the Google Pixel Fold will be the showstopper at this year’s I/O. There have been several leaks regarding the foldable in the last year, and all the signs point to an I/O debut. We’ve been keeping a close eye on all the leaks and rumours, and it looks like we may finally have a foldable that can give Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 a run for its money. Google’s foldable will feature the Tensor G2 SoC and will have a uniquely different form factor than the Galaxy Fold. In its unfolded glory, the smartphone’s display will span 7.69 inches. The size of the cover display is expected to be around 5.8 inches. While there is no news on the pricing, expect the Pixel Fold to be priced similarly to the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
