Over the years, we’ve seen tablets transform from mere entertainment pads into powerful slabs that transcend the limitations of their form factor with nifty accessories and clever software optimisations. ‘But can it really replace my laptop, though?’ has been the pertinent question throughout this time – and one that deserves an incontrovertible answer, especially when the global RAM crisis has driven laptop prices through the roof. Enter HP’s OmniPad 12, a modest 12-inch tablet with a hexa-core Snapdragon chip inside. At Rs 48,990, it comes with its own detachable keyboard folio case, which opens the door to a lot of possibilities. We’ve been using this 2-in-1 tablet for the last week. The OmniPad 12 has a metal unibody with a matte finish. The back panel has a nice in-hand feel. There is a minimal flex to it, but not enough to raise concern. The flat form factor feels premium, and the matte finish keeps fingerprints and smudges at bay. The HP lettering has a mirror background and is positioned at the centre of the panel. The lone camera cutout is placed in the top right corner.

The top edge of the metal frame houses the volume rocker, two microphones, and a hybrid SIM tray. The quad speaker setup is aligned along the vertical edges. The power button is placed on the left edge. The USB-C port and a microphone are sandwiched between the two speaker grilles on the right edge. The 3.5mm headphone jack on the upper section of this edge is a thoughtful addition. The tablet weighs 600g while the keyboard folio case tips the scale at 590g.

The 12-inch IPS LCD panel has a 90Hz refresh rate and can reach a maximum brightness of 400 nits. Its 16:10 aspect ratio is ideal for streaming visual content. The touch response is smooth. The bezels surrounding the screen are thick and even, making it easier to hold the device without setting off any accidental touches. The display remains perfectly legible in indoor conditions, but struggles under harsh sunlight. There is no fingerprint scanner under this display, nor is there one on the side button. You also don’t get facial recognition tech, so your unlocking options are limited to screen unlock only.

The OmniPad 12 offers a good viewing experience. The 2K display produces vibrant visuals packed with essential details. Of course, the contrast isn’t as punchy as we’re used to seeing on AMOLED panels, but LCD is pretty much the norm in this price bracket. The audio output from the quad speaker setup isn’t loud enough to fill the room, but it is clear and well-rounded.

The SM6475Q processor is essentially Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset minus 2 cores. It feels quite lightweight when you compare it against other processors in this segment. The benchmark numbers illustrate this point. The shift in general performance is visible too, especially while multitasking. Juggling multiple apps together often leads to unwanted stutters. Lone routine tasks like emailing, media streaming, and web browsing are handled well.

The magnetic POGO pins on the back panel attach to the keyboard folio case. The flap on the upper section of this case can be brought down to support the tablet and adjust its tilt angle. The keyboard itself feels pretty solid. The keys have nice travel, and the trackpad is sensitive to subtle touches. We used this arrangement to draft a few articles and send the odd email. The typing experience was satisfying, and the overall performance felt very close to a laptop, which is the best compliment we can bestow on the OmniPad 12.

Software duties on this tablet are handled by Android 16. Apart from a few Microsoft apps, there is no bloatware on this device. The Desk Mode is the centrepiece of the software experience. Once enabled, it springs into action as soon as you attach the tablet to the keyboard folio case.

The interface feels very familiar to that of a Windows laptop. You can open apps in different resizable windows and switch among them with ease. This allows you to carry out different tasks at once without any hiccups. Dragging and dropping content across different apps works intuitively in this mode. Our only complaint with this feature is that dragging different windows requires hard-pressing the trackpad. A simple double-tap gesture would’ve been much more intuitive.

The 2-cell 31Wh Li-ion polymer battery gets you through the workday without needing a top-up. Our average day included tasks like web browsing, emailing, attending video meetings, and media streaming. The 33W charger provided in the box takes up to 2 hours to fully charge the tablet from 0%.

The 13MP rear camera captures good pictures in outdoor daylight conditions. The pictures showcase decent colours, even if the details aren’t razor sharp. Images taken in limited lighting conditions are dim and grainy. The front-facing 8MP camera captures clear and bright selfies. It puts up a good performance in video calls as well.

Verdict

The HP OmniPad 12 has a lot of things going for it. Its metal chassis, minimal design, and bright display make it a great entertainment tablet. The keyboard attachment does a splendid job of recreating the ‘laptop vibe’. The keys have nice travel, which leads to a very satisfying typing experience. The big highlight is the Desk Mode, which creates a Windows-like interface when you attach the keyboard folio case to this device. Having said that, the Snapdragon SM6475Q chipset feels like a mediocre choice, given the price of the tablet. While it’s good for routine tasks, it frequently throws stutters your way while multitasking.

Motorola has not yet disclosed the price or availability of the Signature 27 smartphone, which will be available globally later this year. The smartphone will be available in two colours: Pantone Coal Smoke and Pantone Capulet Green.

Samsung has increased the pricing of the Galaxy S26 series in India by quite a bit, with price hikes of up to Rs 25,000 reported. The Galaxy S26’s basic model is now priced at Rs 1,02,999. The Galaxy S26 Ultra version saw the highest price hike of Rs 25,000 across all the variations, while the Galaxy S26+ variants had a uniform price hike of Rs 15,000. These changes apply to many storage variants on the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra.

Samsung has reportedly upped the price of the Galaxy S26 series in India, as per a source. This comes after an earlier list of purported price rises was subsequently disproved, raising doubt on the current list.

Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+

The Galaxy S26 is now priced at Rs 3,000 more than the iPhone 17. However, the Galaxy S26 pricing is still shown at Rs 1,19999 on the official Samsung India website.

Specifically, the basic model of the Galaxy S26 (12GB RAM, 256GB storage) has increased from Rs 87,999 to Rs 1,02,999. The 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant had a price hike, from Rs 1,07,999 to Rs 1,22,999.

The price of the Galaxy S26+ has increased by a staggering Rs 15,000 for both storage options. The 12GB RAM with 256GB storage variant is now priced at Rs 1,34,999, up from Rs 1,19,999, while the 12GB RAM with 512GB storage variant is now priced at Rs 1,54,999, up from Rs 1,39,999.

The 256GB and 512GB versions of the Galaxy S26 Ultra have also been hiked by Rs 15,000 each, while the 1TB version has been hiked by a hefty Rs 25,000. The 12GB + 256GB variant costs Rs 1,54,999, 12GB with 512GB storage variant costs Rs 1,74,999 and the 16GB with 1TB storage variant costs Rs 2,14,999.

The Galaxy S26 sports a 6.3-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display (1,080×2,340 pixels) that can refresh at up to 120 Hz. The Galaxy S26+ has a bigger 6.7-inch display (1,440×3,120 pixels) that can also refresh at 120Hz. Both smartphones come with Corning Gorilla Armor 2 protection.

With Samsung’s One UI 8.5 and Android 16, both phones use Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 processor with a prime core that runs at 3.9GHz. They come with 256GB or 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.

The S26 and S26+ include three cameras on the back: a 50 MP wide-angle camera with f/1.8 aperture and OIS, a 10 MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture, OIS, and 3x optical zoom, and a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 120-degree field of view. With an f/2.2 aperture, the front camera is a 12 MP wide-angle camera. The back cameras can capture 8K video at 24 or 30 frames per second and 4K video at 30 or 60 frames per second.

That matters because mobile video creation is no longer a niche habit. Adobe’s 2026 Creators’ Toolkit survey found that 95% of surveyed Indian creators create content on mobile devices, while 96% of Indian creators who use or have tried creative AI say it has accelerated their business or audience growth. The survey covered more than 16,000 creators across eight countries, including India, the US, UK and Australia.

Premiere mobile Android features focus on serious editing

Free video editing app for Android, with 4K exports

The basic Premiere mobile experience is free, and Adobe says users can edit, save projects locally and export without being forced to create an Adobe account. Certain features, such as Adobe Stock music and generative AI functions, require sign-in. Generative AI features also use Firefly generative credits.

The app supports video editing and exports up to 4K resolution. Adobe is also keeping the experience free of advertising, watermarks and upgrade prompts during the core editing workflow.

That last bit is worth noting. A free editor that does not slap a watermark on your carefully edited reel is already avoiding one of the oldest annoyances in mobile video editing.

Premiere mobile Firefly AI tools arrive too

Adobe is not treating AI as a separate destination. Several Firefly-powered generative features are integrated into the Premiere mobile workflow.

These include Generative Fill, Image-to-Video and Generate Sound Effects, giving creators ways to produce or modify assets without leaving the editing environment. The idea is less about replacing the editor and more about filling gaps when the footage, image, or sound you need simply does not exist.

There is an important distinction here. The core editor is free, while additional generative AI usage can require Firefly credits. So while Premiere mobile costs nothing to start using, unlimited AI experimentation is not necessarily part of the free package.

Adobe Premiere 4K mobile editing has some hardware requirements

Premiere mobile is available on Android phones and tablets running Android 13 or later, with at least 5GB of RAM. Adobe also lists internet connectivity as necessary for creative asset libraries, generative AI capabilities and other cloud-based functions.

There are some platform differences worth knowing about. Adobe’s current documentation shows that certain capabilities vary between Android and iPhone, with features such as enhanced captions, keyframes and some editing controls arriving differently across platforms. Adobe says additional features including Adobe Fonts, enhanced captions, keyframes, cropping, beat detection and continued editing with Premiere desktop are coming.

For phone users, the current editing interface is designed around portrait orientation, while Android tablets support both portrait and landscape modes.

Android video editor for creators who live on the road

The launch also makes particular sense for creators who shoot away from their desks.

Travel creators can combine phone, camera and drone footage on the same device. Journalists can clean up an interview before publishing. YouTubers can cut Shorts between shoots. And social media teams can potentially go from capture to edit to publish without waiting to get back to a laptop.

Adobe has already built Premiere mobile around YouTube Shorts, with templates and a dedicated creation workflow designed for vertical content. GadgetBridge previously covered the arrival of YouTube Shorts editing in Adobe Premiere mobile, and the Android launch expands that mobile-first workflow to a much larger device ecosystem.

The bigger story is the changing definition of a video workstation. A capable Android phone already has the camera, processing power, storage and connectivity. Premiere mobile adds a more traditional editing timeline to that equation.

Adobe Premiere mobile Android app availability

Adobe Premiere mobile is now available through the Google Play Store in more than 150 countries. It supports Android 13 or later devices with at least 5GB of RAM. The core editing experience is free, while additional storage and generative AI usage can require paid options or Firefly credits.

For Android creators, the significance is fairly simple. The phone was already the place where most videos began. With Premiere now available on Android, it can also be where many of them get finished.

And that may be the most interesting part of this launch. The laptop is not disappearing from the editing room anytime soon, but the editing room itself is becoming increasingly difficult to locate.

Google Pixel 11 Review: Clean, smart and reliable

Google’s new Pixel 11 lineup hit the market last month with its three familiar ‘candybar’ variants and a book-style foldable. The price of the vanilla variant in the series has gone up by Rs 10,000 due to the global RAM shortage. It gets a few design tweaks, an upgraded chipset, and a bigger main camera sensor. Compared to the Pro model, which carries similar specs, it feels like a great deal at Rs 89,999. We’ve been using the smartphone for a week, going through its ins and outs. Here is our review of the Google Pixel 11.

The Pixel 11 looks similar to last year’s vanilla model (our review here). The camera bar has been refreshed with an all-black finish. The LED flash is now grouped with the three lenses instead of being encased in a bezel. This is a welcome change as it gives the device a clean, minimal look. The glass back panel retains its glossy finish. We used our review unit without a case and found it to be quite the fingerprint magnet.

The aluminium frame has a matte finish, which does wonders for the grip and in-hand feel. It houses the side button and the volume rocker on its right edge. The USB-C port is sandwiched between the speaker slits at the bottom. Up top lie the SIM tray and the microphone. The smartphone is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The lack of an IP69/IP69K rating on a flagship model is a bit of a letdown. Having said that, the Pixel 11 is immersible up to 1.5 metres in water for 30 minutes. It weighs 197g, which isn’t too bulky by modern standards.

The 6.3-inch LTPS OLED display has a 120Hz refresh rate and can reach 2,000 nits in High Brightness Mode. Since this is an LTPS panel, its refresh rate can’t drop to 1Hz. When the screen is idle, it refreshes at 60Hz. The touch response is smooth and satisfying. In bright outdoor conditions, the display is able to reach an optimum level of brightness to maintain legibility. The under-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is fast and snappy. You can unlock the phone with a simple tap without even waking up the screen.

The 1,080 x 2,424p OLED display curates a fine viewing experience. The visuals showcase vibrant colours mixed with sharp details. The punchy contrast adds to the flavour. You also get HDR10+ support and Widevine L1 DRM certification. The streaming quality is consistent across all major OTT platforms. The speaker setup produces a well-rounded audio output.

Google’s in-house Tensor G6 SoC lies at the heart of the Pixel 11. This 3nm chipset powers the Pro models in the lineup too. The vanilla model is equipped with 12GB of RAM and comes in 2 storage variants.

We ran a couple of benchmarks on the Pixel 11. Here’s how it performed.

AnTuTu 3D: 1,209,824
Geekbench 6: 1,702 (single-core) | 4,456 (multi-core)

The Tensor G6 processor does significantly well in benchmark tests compared to its predecessor. The performance jump in everyday use isn’t noticeable right off the bat, as the Tensor G5 chipset was adept at handling routine tasks without any hiccups. We did notice that the Pixel 11 generally runs cooler than last year’s model, so that’s a plus. Apps load quickly, and juggling a bunch of them together does not cause any unwanted lag or stutters. Google’s haptic game remains one of the best in the game. The G6 pulls through when it comes to handling on-device AI tasks. The word from Google is that the new chipset offers 50% more processing power in this regard compared to the Tensor G5.

Pixels don’t have the reputation for being gaming beasts, but the latest model does a good job of running titles like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile. The gameplay remains consistent at high graphics and frame rate settings. Thermal management isn’t drastically different from what we’re used to seeing, but the smartphone does not bother you with throttling issues. We noticed the first signs of warmth along the back panel 15 minutes into our gaming session. There’s still room for improvement there.

Talking about the software, Pixel 11 runs the new Android 17 out of the box. Fans of stock Android will like the clean, bloatware-free interface. While not much has changed in terms of design and layout, Google has made a few tweaks. The most welcome one comes on the Quick Settings Menu, where the Wi-Fi and Mobile Data tiles have been split into two. Now you can toggle your mobile data with just one tap instead of going into the Internet tile. The panel editor lets you resize the tiles.

Compared to other Android skins, Google has always lagged behind when it comes to fancy lock screen themes. Android 17 takes a step in the right direction with the introduction of ‘Theme Packs’. So far, there are only 3 Harry Potter themes, which look a bit AI-esque, but we’re excited to see more additions in future updates. While we’re here, we’d like to see more AOD faces too.

Talking about feature additions, the native Camera app gets a new Magic Capture toggle, placed conveniently next to the Photo and Video toggles. When you enter this mode, your phone starts recording video and captures stills along the way. The images are automatically refined and presented as finished pictures when you go to the Photos app. The native screen recorder now lets you film yourself while capturing the content on the screen. This will be a handy tool for content creators. The Gemini Assistant gets a small boost too, as it can now look into other Google apps for relevant data.

Ever since Si/C tech has become the norm, we’re used to seeing smartphones pack ridiculously massive battery packs. While the Pixel 11’s modest 4,985mAh unit pales in comparison, it can still get you through the day without needing a top-up midway. We have to give credit where credit is due – the Tensor G6 chipset does a fine job at battery management. When it comes to charging speed, however, Google still has a long way to go. With support for 30W wired charging, it takes almost 90 minutes to fully charge this device. There’s also support for 25W Qi2 wireless magnetic charging.

The camera array features an updated 48MP primary shooter with a 1/1.56” sensor. The 13MP ultrawide lens and 10.8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom remain unchanged. The punch-hole cutout on the display houses a 10.5MP selfie shooter.

The 48MP primary shooter captures brilliant shots in outdoor daylight conditions. The images showcase natural colours with warm tones and vibrant hues. If you’re not a fan of overprocessed, ‘social media ready’ pictures, the Pixel 11 offers one of the best shooting experiences. The sharpness, contrast, and dynamic range are on point as well. In limited lighting conditions, the smartphone does a good job of analysing the scene and assigning true colours to the images. There is no visible noise in the final shots.

The 10.8MP telephoto lens offers a 5x optical zoom. This comes in handy when your subject is at a distance. The 5x shots have a lot of detail, but in comparison to the results from the main camera, they appear a smidge softer. The good news is that these images are able to replicate the main sensor’s colour tone. The telephoto sensor also comes in handy when taking 5x portrait shots. The smartphone does a brilliant job of focusing on the subject, separating it from its background, and applying a tasteful blur effect.

The 13MP ultrawide lens is your go-to camera when taking scenic landscape shots. It may not produce as sharp results as the main camera, but the final results have tasteful colours, contrast, and dynamic range. We did not hesitate to use this camera in outdoor daylight conditions. In limited lighting, the images were a tad grainy but still passable. The front-facing 10.5MP camera captures clear and detailed selfies. These pictures do justice to the subject’s skin tone and texture. There are no artificial smoothing or brightening effects tacked on to the selfies.

Google Pixel 11 Review: Performance and Cameras — Ultrawide

The primary shooter and telephoto lens can record 4K videos at 24/30/60fps. The front-facing camera can shoot 4K videos at 30/60fps. The ultrawide does not offer 4K recording at 60fps. Your frame rate options are limited to 24/30fps at this resolution.

Verdict

Given the current market trend, the Pixel 11 is one of the smarter flagship purchases you can make right now. It gets a meaningful hardware update in the form of the Tensor G6 chipset. The rejuvenated processor is better at processing on-device AI tasks and managing battery life. The camera bar looks more refined and cleaner than ever. Android 17 offers a good software experience and finally brings some highly requested features. The camera array is reliable in a wide range of lighting conditions. The charging speed leaves more to be desired, but a full day of battery life makes up for it.

Oppo has raised the pricing of its smartphone models in India, including the Reno 16c, A6 5G, A6x 5G and A6c. The price jump is between Rs 1,000 and Rs 4,000 depending upon the configuration. The A6c has been priced at Rs 17,999 as its starting price. The new pricing is now available on Oppo’s official site.

Oppo Reno 16c new price

Oppo has hiked the price of its Reno 16c smartphone in India by up to Rs 4,000. The revised cost is live on the official Oppo India website and is a big change for users who are looking at this model.

The 8GB + 128GB variant now costs Rs 52,999, up from Rs 49,999.
The 8GB + 256GB model has increased from Rs 53,999 to Rs 57,999.
The 12GB + 256GB variant is now priced at Rs 62,999, previously Rs 59,999.

The Reno 16c features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080×2,372 pixels and a lower pixel density of 397 ppi. It does, however, tie the Reno 16 for max refresh rate while hitting a peak brightness of 1,400 nits. Both the devices support IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

The triple rear camera setups on the phones are almost similar except for the ultra-wide lenses. There is a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) main sensor with a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT-600 sensor and optical image stabilisation. It also features a 50-megapixel (f/2.0) ultrawide camera (Reno 16), an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera (Reno 16C) and a 50-megapixel (f/2.8) telephoto camera with an 80mm equivalent focal length. It features a 50-megapixel front-facing camera that is perfect for selfies and video calls.

The 16C, on the other hand, comes with an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC. Both the smartphones support up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. On the software front there is ColorOS 16 based on Android 16.

The Oppo Reno 16C is stuffed with a slightly larger 7,000mAh battery. But both of them support 0W wired fast charging.

Oppo A6 5G new price

The Oppo A6 5G has experienced a price increase across all its configurations.

The 4GB + 128GB model now costs Rs 29,999 (previously Rs 28,999).
The 6GB + 128GB model is priced at Rs 31,999 (remains the same).
The 6GB + 256GB version is available for Rs 35,999 (previously Rs 31,999).

In terms of specifications, the Oppo A6s 5G is highlighted with a 6.75-inch LCD screen supporting an adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. The panel has a peak brightness of up to 1125 nits. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, it offers configurations of up to 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The smartphone is shipped with ColorOS 15 pre-installed.

The gadget has two advanced capabilities designed to improve the user experience when gaming. To begin, the AI GameBoost feature dramatically improves gaming performance by customising the system’s resources to provide a more seamless gameplay experience. Second, the AI LinkBoost 3.0 technology improves connectivity, which is particularly useful in areas with congested networks or insufficient coverage and provides a consistent connection during online play.

The Oppo A6s 5G comes with a dual rear camera system that combines a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for improved photographic capabilities. The gadget has a 5-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and making video calls. It also has stereo speakers, which provide consumers with an immersive audio experience.

The Oppo A6s 5G comes with a powerful 6,500mAh battery that supports rapid charging at 44W, allowing for effective power management and swift recharging. Connectivity options include 5G, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a USB Type-C connection.

Oppo A6x 5G new price

Oppo has increased pricing for all variants of its A6x 5G smartphone. This change may affect consumer purchasing decisions and reflects ongoing market dynamics in the smartphone sector.

The 4GB + 64GB variant now costs Rs 19,999, up from Rs 18,999.
The 4GB + 128GB model is now priced at Rs 23,999, increased from Rs 21,999.
The 6GB + 128GB version has risen to Rs 26,999, up from Rs 24,999.

On the front is a 6.75-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness goes up to 1125 nits, which should help with outdoor visibility in Indian sunlight.

The phone ships with Android 15 skinned with ColorOS. Under the hood, the OPPO A6x 5G runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 platform with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage.

The OPPO A6x 5G battery is a 6500mAh unit. Charging is handled by 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, which OPPO says can take the phone from 1 per cent to around 41 per cent in about 30 minutes.
