Sony ILX-LR1 E-mount interchangeable lens camera for drone photography launched in India

Sony India today unveiled a new E-mount interchangeable lens camera- ILX-LR1. It comes with a 35mm full-frame image sensor and is compatible with the Sony Camera Remote Software Development Kit (SDK). The device can be remotely operated and has a compact form factor. It is ideal for inspection, investigation, surveying, and mapping by drone.

Sony ILX-LR1 specifications

Sony ILX-LR1 is a lightweight interchangeable lens camera with a 35mm full-frame image sensor. It is approximately 3.94 inches in width x 2.91 inches in height x 1.67 inches in depth, weighing approximately 0.53 lbs (243 g). The small, box-shaped camera features screw holes (M3) on each of its six sides for safe attachment in any appropriate spot, including a drone, industrial machines, robots and/or submersibles. Furthermore, the bottom surface of it features a mounting screw hole (1/4-20 UNC). For ease of installation, the USB Type-C and HDMI Micro (Type D) ports are located together on the back of the camera.

The new Sony camera offers low-latency data transfer ILX-LR1 Power & Control Terminal for distant applications that need to respond instantly, such as taking a photograph at a particular moment. The ILX-LR1 supports a DC 10-18V power connection that provides support for an extended amount of battery life.

The ILX-LR1 can be used for a variety of job sites and purposes such as utilities, green energy, telecommunications, transportation, construction, and land management projects.

As per the company, Sony ILX-LR1 is capable of recording high resolution, low noise, and wide dynamic range images that reveal minute details like tiny scratches and cracks during inspection and investigation. Furthermore, it can shoot continuously at up to three frames per second, which is ideal for mapping shooting. Since the ILX-LR1 is compatible with a wide range of E-mount lenses, a single photo taken from a high altitude can replace multiple images from a lower-resolution camera therefore allowing the user to select the most suited lens dependent on the project.

Sony ILX-LR1 price in India

Sony ILX-LR1 has been introduced with a price tag of Rs 3,29,990. The camera is now up for sale.
