Realme China’s plans for 2020? Only 5G Phones

Realme will soon be launching 5G-compatible mid-range and budget smartphones in China in 2020

Realme’s CEO and founder, Sky Li, has disclosed surprising news through a Weibo post. He has said that Realme will only release 5G phones in their home market, China. While the company will release 4G phones globally. He also mentioned that Realme will now only focus on the flagship segment and that the company is working to bring 5G connectivity to mid-range and budget phones to cover a younger customer base.

Realme will be launching their first 5G phones, the Realme X50 and Realme X50 Youth edition soon in China. Both these phones will support 5G’s standalone and non-standalone networks, offering dual-mode 5G connectivity.

These 5G phones will probably not be released in India, as India does not currently have access to 5G networks, but their 4G versions of the same smartphones may make an entry sometime next year.

In India, The company recently released the Realme X2 Pro and the Realme 5s. The Realme X2 Pro uses corning gorilla glass 5 on both sides. The device comes with a 6.5-inch full HD+ display panel and a 50W superVOOC charger that can charge the 4,000 mAh battery in under 35 minutes.

The phone comes with a quad-camera setup, hosting a primary camera of 64-megapixel, 13-megapixel, 8-megapixel and a 2-megapixel completing the setup. The front camera of 16-Megapixel is there for selfie shots. The Realme X2 PRO runs on Android 9 Pie with ColorOS 6.1. The phone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor. The phone offers 128GB RAM and up to 256GB storage with Dolby Atmos support and stereo speakers.

The Realme X2 Pro has 2 variants, one with 12GB RAM/256GB storage priced at Rs 33,999 and the other variant offers 8GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at Rs 29,999.

Meanwhile, The Realme 5s too has a quad-camera setup housing a 48-megapixel primary camera, with an 8-megapixel and two 2-megapixel cameras. This phone comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and the Snapdragon 665 processor with a display of 6.51-inch that supports HD+ resolution. The phone is available in 3 colour options of Crystal Red, Crystal Blue and Crystal Purple. This device is priced at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage version while the other variant with 4GB RAM and 64 GB storage is priced at Rs 9,999.
