Nothing rolled out a fun teaser on their official social media accounts displaying a pencil drawing of a smartphone design layout. The teaser ended with a “4b” pencil, which put an end to the popular speculation about the new “b” branding, which some were arguing might be a new pair of headphones or a smartphone. The announcement indicates the “b” moniker refers to a smartphone purportedly being Nothing Phone 4b.
Flipkart has officially created a new microsite for the Nothing “b” series under the mobile section of the website. The URL for this site has “nothing-phone-2026” in it, suggesting a new mobile gadget is headed to India soon.
The Phone 4b will have Nothing’s unique transparent back design, which will provide a unique visual attraction. It is likely to come with a single back camera, which hints at a simplified and budget-orientated setup. This design choice says a lot about the brand’s strategy of providing impressive designs without over-complicating things and, while keeping the budget-conscious consumer in mind, providing essential functionality.

Last week, Nothing put out a Pokémon teaser, internally codenamed, as it prepares for a new hardware launch cycle with a dot-matrix teaser showcasing Blastoise and a global teaser for Jumpluff.
Blastoise, a Generation I Pokémon known for its power and protective shell, hints that the next product is a beast and designed to perform. It seems to hint at the upcoming launch of a new smartphone, more so since the teaser has been posted widely by Nothing India, which confirms a launch soon in India.
Also, as Blastoise is a water-type Pokémon, it might imply an upgrade in the device’s endurance, perhaps reaching a higher IP certification for water resistance, like IP68, particularly for mid-range or flagship smartphones.
Alongside Blastoise, the addition of Jumpluff, a Grass/Flying-type Pokémon known for its lightweight and floating abilities, points to rumours of a new pair of true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, likely the Nothing Ear (3a) or a new lightweight pair that emphasises lightness, agility and better active noise cancellation (ANC). Jumpluff is especially suited as a mascot for audio product lines, since it complements the brand’s emphasis on delivering a fluid, immersive listening experience.

Thus, the expected CMF Phone 3 Pro has been apparently cancelled or placed on hold to preserve the ultra-budget position of the sub-brand. As a result, several hardware projects in the works have been rebranded to be part of the main Nothing brand. The upcoming Phone 4b will be slotted a notch below the previously introduced Phone 4a series to compete in the aggressively priced entry-level category in the sub-Rs 30,000 pricing range. The Phone 4b is slated to come as early as next month, with more comprehensive specs set to be revealed after an official teaser campaign, coming soon. According to certain insiders, the global smartphone industry is going through a huge problem when it comes to the pricing of RAM, and this has resulted in higher component prices.
