We agree that sometimes there may arise situations when you might need to disable the VPN (Virtual Private Network). You may be setting up an internet connection for the very first time or may want to troubleshoot network issues. Your internet connection might be sluggish and you may be wanting to notch up its speed a little. In all such situations, you would want to turn off your VPN temporarily. And in case you are unable to configure how to do that, we are here for your help. Here is a step-by-step guide provided below on how to turn off VPN on Android in 2022.

For those who don’t know, VPN or a Virtual Private Network is a service that protects your privacy online. It secures your online identity by masking your IP address and creates an encrypted pathway for your data so that you can use public Wi-Fi hotspots safely. When you’re browsing through a VPN, your traffic is encrypted. This means that no one can decipher your online activity. It is a wall of privacy, keeping you from the attack of digital predators like hackers, stalkers and online marketers. Hence, unless there is a critical need, it is recommended to always keep your VPN on.

You can also remove the VPN by uninstalling the VPN app on your Android device.

But do remember, once you turn off your VPN, your online activity is no longer protected. The location of your IP address would be easily trackable and your online traffic, personal information and data won’t be shielded with security and privacy anymore. You won’t have a secure network connection and thus would be at a higher risk of getting targeted by people with malicious intent like hackers, etc.

There is always a possibility that you may forget to turn back on the VPN after you disable it temporarily. So to keep up with your online privacy and security, don’t forget to switch it on again.
