How to add custom backgrounds to a Facebook post on a Web browser
Step 1: At the top of your feed, click on the box that says ‘What’s on your mind, [Your Name]?’
Step 2: Click on the colour palette icon with the ‘Aa’ text on it.
Step 3: You’ll be presented with a list of basic colour backgrounds. For more animated backgrounds, click on the icon with the four squares at the end.
Step 4: Pick the background you want to set on your post.
Step 5: Write your post and click on ‘Post’ to share it with your friends.

You can only add custom backgrounds to text posts that you make from your personal profile. Background colours cannot be added to posts from a public page. Personal posts with links or images with them can’t be shared with a custom background either.
