Amazon has today announced its Echo Show 5 in India. The Amazon Echo Show 5 features a smart screen with a 5.5-inch display, rich sound, HD camera, and built-in camera shutter. The latest addition by the company will be available at Rs 8,999 during the Amazon Prime Day sale that is set to begin on July 15 and will go on till July 16. It will last for 48 hours. All through the sale, the Amazon Echo Show 5 will be available at its lowest price.
Commenting on the launch of Echo Show 5 Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices commented: “We are really excited to bring the newly-launched Echo Show 5 to our customers on Prime Day,”. “The visual experience of Alexa can be extremely handy — whether it’s looking up recipes, watching short videos, or updating shopping lists. - Entertainment: The users can enjoy watching their favorite shows such as Comicstaan from Amazon Prime originals and movies from Prime Video. The Echo also lets the user watch music videos from Hungama or short news clips from Aaj Tak, NDTV and more. The device lets users access Amazon Music, Saavn, Gaana, Hungama Music, TuneIn, and more. Since the device comes with Alexa support, users can simply say, “Alexa, play party songs” to play music.
- Cook with Alexa– While working in the kitchen the hands are occupied with food preparation. If you have Amazon Echo Show 5, you can command Alexa to show you different recipes or ask it to provide step-by-step cooking instructions. Just say, “Alexa, let’s start cooking’ and the digital assistant will walk you step-by-step through popular recipes curated by star chef, Sanjeev Kapoor. With instructions like “play” and “pause”, “next step” and “repeat step”, you can ensure that you haven’t missed out on anything.
- Watch how-to videos– The device is integrated with WikiHow that allows the user to access how-to videos by asking something like “Alexa, how to crack open a coconut”.
- Personalise: To personalize the Amazon Echo Show 5, the user can add a photo of their choice to make the home screen unique. They can also use your Facebook photos to customize the home screen. It also allows the user to play a slideshow of their photos, to view a specific album or they can set their photos to rotate in the background. Based on the brightness of the room, the device automatically adjusts the brightness of the screen.
Users can also call friends and family who have the Alexa app, an Echo device with a screen, or Skype. They can use a drop-in feature to check on their kids or parents – just like an intercom.
It also lets the user control their smart home devices with the new smart home dashboard on Amazon Echo Show 5. For doing this, they can simply ask Alexa to turn off the lights or use the on-screen controls to adjust the brightness of the lights or switch on the AC. There are multiple other functions that the device can perform.
