Today Apple’s event kick-started with the company’s head Tim Cook’s keynote. The firm’s head started off with an Apple TV+ update. The upcoming update will bring new content along with other Apple TV Originals. Then he started introducing new products and the first one to be unveiled at today’s event is the all-new iPad. The latest generation of tablets comes with Apple’s iPad A13 Bionic, which is said to be 3 times faster than Chromebooks. Alongside iPad 2021 the company has also introduced the iPad Mini. Apart from this the company also presented the Watch Series 7 smartwatch.
Apple iPad 2021 and iPad Mini specifications and features
The all-new iPad 2021 operates on iPadOS 15 and will support the first-generation Apple Pencil. There is a 10.2-inch Retina display with an upgraded ambient light sensor that enables True Tone, which adjusts screen content to the colour temperature of a room. This makes images appear more natural and provides users with a more comfortable viewing experience in all lighting environments.
The device is powered by the latest A13 Bionic chipset which is said to be three times faster than the latest Chromebooks. Apple’s iPad 2021 will be featuring a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree point of view whereas the front camera comes with a new Centre-stage feature. Centre Stage makes video calls more natural in FaceTime as well as third-party video-calling apps.
In addition to this, Apple has also unveiled the all-new iPad Mini. It features an 8.3-inch screen with a Touch ID. The device will be available in Wifi and a cellular variant. The iPad Mini has support for 5G connectivity. It has a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with Centre Stage and a new speaker system. Moreover, the new lineup will have support for the second generation of Apple Pencil. It comes with a USB Type-C port.
Speaking of the pricing, the new iPad 2021 will start at $329 and will start shipping next week. On the other hand, the all-new iPad Mini price starts at $499. The pre-orders will start today and the company will begin shipping next week.
The price in India of the Wi-Fi models of iPad will start at Rs 30,900 whereas the Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at Rs 42,900. The price of the Apple Pencil (1st generation) is set at Rs 8,500. Whereas the Smart Keyboard will be available separately at Rs 13,900.
On the other hand, the price of Wi-Fi models of iPad Mini in India has been set at a starting price of Rs 46900. Whereas Wi-Fi + Cellular models will be available at Rs 60900. The new iPad mini, in 64GB and 256GB configurations, comes in pink, starlight, purple, and space grey finishes with availability beginning Friday, September 24.
