Apple rolls out iOS 18.5 release candidate to beta testers

The company recently rolled out new watch faces, iPhone and iPad wallpapers, along with a Pride Edition Sport Band.

Apple put out the iOS 18.5 release candidate to beta testers. The function notifies parents when a Screen Time passcode is entered on their child’s smartphone. The update will be accessible to eligible users in the coming days, and it will include modifications to the Apple TV app for third-party devices as well as the Screen Time function on iOS. Additionally, iPhone 13 users will get carrier-backed satellite connectivity, and the Screen Time function will be improved with iOS 18.5.

A new feature in Screen Time in Apple’s iOS 18.5 release candidate, which was made available to testers, notifies parents when a child enters their passcode to bypass parental controls. This lets parents know if their child is successful in guessing the passcode.

Unlike the iPhone 14 and later models, which have connection powered by Globalstar, Apple’s earlier iPhone 13 series devices now use carrier-based satellite connectivity. Starlink Direct (SpaceX) provides satellite connection to T-Mobile customers in the United States.

Apple is improving third-party device purchases on the Apple TV app by introducing the Buy with iPhone option. The business also released a new Apple Vision Pro app for consumers who acquired the Vision Pro spatial computer. The future iOS 18.5 update will address an issue that caused a blank screen when using the app.

In celebration of the resilience and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities, Apple is releasing the Pride Edition Sport Band, watch face, and iPhone and iPad wallpaper. The band may be bought, and a future software update will provide the matching watch face and wallpaper.
