Apple TV application released by the company weeks before its Streaming Service launch

Apple has released a new application which can be used to watch television for the Apple devices along with Apple TV (one with internet connection). The move comes from the Cupertino-based tech giant before its release of its own original shows. The new app will also help the company to generate more revenue by reselling other companies’ programmes. The new Apple TV application comes with many changes and new features and it will try to solve the problems the current streaming services are facing.

The new Apple TV app is available in more than 100 countries and markets and it will try to bring other streaming services together. By doing that, it will be able to show more content and news on one platform. This will help the user greatly as they won’t have to juggle between one or more streaming platforms. The Apple TV app also gives the users personalised recommendations based on their viewing habits.

The Apple TV app will allow the users to sign up to the platform and pay for the channels they haven’t already subscribed to but want to watch. By using Apple TV app, the users won’t have to create new passwords, IDs and download additional applications. As Apple TV app will converge more than one streaming services to itself so the users can pay for whatever he wants to watch and subscribe to. Some platforms have already joined the Apple TV, while streaming services like HBO, Starz, Showtime and Tastemade will be joining the platform soon.

The officials of the company haven’t said anything about the pricing details of the Apple TV app signups. But the people familiar with this say that the company will take a cut of the subscription fees when the customers will use the Apple TV app to sign up for a channel they want to view.

When launched, the Apple TV app will allow the users to search for a show or program across multiple services and they can then choose which one they want to see. They can even use Apple’s AI Siri to guide them. And as mentioned above, the application will also recommend shows based on the viewing choices and watching habits of the users.

But it should be noted that some of the main platforms won’t be a part of Apple TV, and the most prominent one among these is Netflix. When the user searches for a program while the Apple TV app they will be able to see the Netflix’s programs in the search results. But they won’t be able to watch them and they would need to exit the Apple TV app to watch the program on Netflix’s app. Currently, Charter Communications’s Spectrum, AT&T’s DirecTV Now and Sony’s Playstation Vue are the only TV providers which supports the Apple TV app.
