Samsung Electronics announced its new MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and Lifestyle TVs, just in time for the Consumer Electronics Show in 2022. The fresh new lineup of Samsung Smart TVs is Dolby Atmos supported. In addition to the TVs and soundbars, the company has also unveiled a new Smart Hub for its 2022 smart TVs that is claimed to enable smart content curation, cloud gaming, video chats, on-screen multitasking allowing players to stream games from a variety of cloud gaming services and more.
Samsung MICRO LED
Samsung MICRO LED boasts 25 million micrometre-sized LEDs that emit light and colour individually. Samsung will debut the MICRO LED in three sizes at CES 2022: 110 inch, 101 inch, and 89 inches. The 2022 MICRO LED also has a 20-bit greyscale depth. This implies that MICRO LED models may represent every detail in a scene, with over 1 million steps of brightness and colour intensities to create a real HDR experience. It also fully represents the DCI and Adobe RGB colour gamuts, resulting in vibrant, vivid colours. The TV will boast a 99.99 percent screen-to-body ratio.
According to the firm the MICRO LED offers improved usability and customising options. Customers may use Art Mode to transform any area into an art gallery by selecting and displaying their favourite artwork or digital pictures. Whereas Multi See allows users to concurrently view material from four distinct sources in immaculate 4K quality at up to 120 frames per second – from any or all of the four HDMI connectors. With top, side, and bottom channel speakers, Dolby Atmos creates a truly immersive audio experience with magnificent, multi-dimensional sound.
Samsung Neo QLED
2022 Neo QLED is powered by the Neo Quantum Processor that is said to produce some of the most immaculate pictures and immersive soundscapes and the advances in picture technology and sound it brings. The processor comes with enhanced contrast mapping with BLU (backlight unit), which boosts the brightness level from 12 to 14 bits for better management of the light source – the Quantum Mini LEDs. This increases the TV’s illumination control to 16,384 steps, quadrupling the previous 4,096 steps.
In addition to this Samsung’s 2022 Neo QLED includes Real Depth Enhancer, a multi-intelligence picture quality technology.
It also has EyeComfort mode, which changes the screen’s brightness and tone automatically depending on a built-in light sensor and sunset/sunrise information. In terms of audio Neo QLED will include OTS Pro, which integrates strong up-firing multi-channel speakers to provide overhead surround sound and builds on OTS (Item Tracking Sound), which directs sound to travel across the room along with the object on-screen.
Samsung Lifestyle TVs
Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle series includes The Frame, The Sero, and The Serif now has a new Matte Display with anti-glare, anti-reflection, and anti-fingerprint features, making users one of the most pleasant and comfortable viewing experiences.
As a consequence, UL (Underwriter Laboratories) certified the new Matte Display on Samsung’s 2022 Lifestyle screens as ‘Reflection Glare-Free,’ ‘Discomfort Glare-Free,’ and ‘Disability Glare-Free.’
The frame is available in a variety of sizes ranging from 32″ to 85″. Whereas The Serif is now available in sizes ranging from 43″ to 65″ with the addition of a 65″ size option. The Sero provides an improved viewing experience in both vertical and horizontal orientations. With the vertical Multi See feature, it allows users to view various materials on the top and bottom of the screen at the same time, or search for information while viewing anything.
New Smart Hub and Gaming Hub
Samsung’s Smart TVs from 2022 have a new Smart Hub that puts content curation and discovery at the forefront. The new Smart Hub will direct consumers to their favourite content or assist them in discovering something new. The Smart Hub’s sidebar also enables for a smooth transition between categories – Media, Game (Gaming Hub), and Ambient – allowing users to concentrate on different in-home activities.
Through game streaming services, the Samsung Gaming Hub will enable players to find and jump into the games they love faster. Samsung’s agreements NVIDIA GeForce Now, Stadia, and Utomik provide players access to a vast library of games. The Watch Together allows users to video chat with their friends and family while watching their favourite shows and movies. As per Samsung, MICRO LED, Neo QLED, and The Frame are all supported by the NFT Platform for discovering, acquiring, and exchanging digital artwork. Lastly, the Smart Calibration function lets users fine-tune the settings for the best visual quality. Basic mode allows you to calibrate the panels in 30 seconds, while Professional mode takes roughly 10 minutes to optimise the screens for perfect picture quality.
Samsung’s 2022 soundbars
The soundbar collection for 2022 has been upgraded with new technologies along with the addition of synchronisation, Samsung’s Q Symphony surround-sound experience, which allows Samsung’s Neo QLEDs and soundbars to operate together. This allows the soundbar and TV speakers to collaborate with all of the TV speakers, including the top channel speakers for a better sound experience.
Wireless Dolby Atmos connectivity,3 a wireless Smart TV-to-soundbar link in which both the screen and soundbar speakers give a wireless experience.
